Overnight, public opinion split into two extremes, but none of it really affected me.
Some claimed that Jenny had used her gratitude to destroy my marriage with Nathan, leading to the breakdown of our relationship.
Others argued that Nathan’s love had been fake from the start, and if he truly wanted to repay the debt he owed to Donald, he could’ve done it with money and resources instead of humiliating his own wife and pushing her to the point of divorce.
Nathan’s reputation was shattered. Baldwin Group’s stock price fluctuated wildly.
It didn’t take long before I had my own revelation–Jenny had orchestrated everything herself, hiring people to take photos of her and Nathan entering a hotel together and even planting fake evidence of me being the other
woman.
The scandal exploded on social media.
Nathan, overwhelmed, tried to send Jenny overseas. But when he saw the news, he nearly strangled her on the side of the road.
He demanded answers from Jenny. “Why did you do this?”
At first, she tried to play the emotional card. But as he squeezed tighter, choking the breath out of her, she suddenly burst out laughing maniacally and admitted everything.
“I just wanted to be Mrs. Baldwin. I wanted to force Lois to divorce you. Nathan, if you truly loved Lois, I wouldn’t have had a chance!”
Nathan was so enraged that he coughed up blood and collapsed.
A passerby caught the moment on video, and it went viral online.
Baldwin Group’s stock plummeted. Nathan woke up disoriented. Still, that didn’t stop him from being immediately ousted from his position as CEO.
As for Jenny, her reputation was destroyed. She had no choice but to leave the country.
But unfortunately, she died in a car accident on her way to the airport.
On my wedding day, Chris gave me a grand ceremony with a sea of flowers and fireworks that lasted all night— known by everyone in Holnia.
When some guests joked that I was meant to marry Chris because it was destiny, he just let out a cold laugh and immediately told them to leave the wedding.
Then, before everyone, he declared after the vows, “I am Lois‘ husband by marriage. And I will never leave her.” Chris understood that my heart might not entirely belong to him, but the kindness he showed me never changed. On our wedding night, he held me tightly, almost as if he was afraid I would disappear or leave him.
