Ethan was stunned.
He’d been so anxious that he’d forgotten this
<
wasn’t his past life.
His eyes scanned my face, but all he saw was
my “this guy is crazy” expression.
“Please show some respect!”
With that, Olivia dragged me away.
Ethan instinctively reached out, trying to grab
my hand.
I jumped back, hiding behind Olivia’s other
side like a chick hiding behind a hen.
Ethan’s face stiffened.
<
“So I disgust you this much?”
I nodded firmly, without hesitation.
Ethan said with a grim expression,
“Then why didn’t you refuse to sleep with me
for those five years?”
As soon as he finished speaking, Olivia
slapped him hard.
Olivia was trembling with rage.
“How dare you spout such nonsense!”
“Ethan Harris, if you keep slandering my best
<
“Ethan Harris, if you keep slandering my best
friend, I’ll post on the school forum about you
harassing her and see how long your ‘aloof
campus hottie‘ reputation lasts!”
Ethan’s head snapped to the side.
It was clear Olivia had used all her strength,
showing no mercy.
Before he could recover, Olivia had already
pulled me away.
After this incident…
Ethan seemed to finally believe I wasn’t
reborn.
<
He sent an apology gift through someone,
saying he was too impulsive and had said
things he shouldn’t have.
The gift was a limited–edition Cartier
bracelet.
As expected of a rich kid.
Ethan was truly generous.
Olivia sneered. “How ridiculous!”
“You bore him two children in your past life,
and he never gave you anything.”
“He just said, ‘You’re Mrs. Harris, go buy
<
whatever you want,‘ and then turned around
and bought his childhood sweetheart a
mountain of luxury goods!”
“Now he’s trying to suck up!”
I sold the bracelet and added a nice chunk of
change to my savings.
Now I could afford a trip!
A few days later, Ethan asked to meet me
again, saying he wanted to apologize in
person.
Naturally, I refused.
<
Olivia said, “We accepted your gift. A face-
to–face apology isn’t necessary. Let’s just
pretend we don’t know each other from now
on.”
But Ethan wasn’t giving up.
