Scheming?
If anyone was scheming, it was her who had been plotting against me first.
Besides, I was the one who started this company. She was the one who did nothing and still benefitted.
“Are you done?”
I was starting to get impatient.

She sweetly hooked her arm around mine and said in a flirtatious tone, “Hey, Chris, I was just kidding with you earlier.
“A talent like you? How could I bear to fire you or make you kneel?”
She turned to Logan and pouted playfully.
“You agree, don’t you, darling?”
Logan quickly caught on, nodding eagerly.
“Right, right, Jessica actually decided long ago to promote you to vice president.
“We just weren’t in the office last month, so we didn’t have a chance to notify you sooner.
“Jessica really values you. How could she want to fire you? I think this is all just a little misunderstanding.”
Seeing how quickly these two changed their tune to flatter me, I couldn’t help but laugh..
How ironic! They were so arrogant at first, then suddenly so humble.
After all that, they were only afraid I’d really fire them.
If they had known this was going to happen, why bother with all the trouble of kicking me out in the first place?
With that thought, I pretended to hesitate and nodded slowly.
“Oh, is that so…
“I can choose not to fire you, but I will have to change your positions.”
Seeing that they had saved their jobs, Jessica and Logan exchanged a look and immediately agreed with smiles.
Logan, eager to please, asked, “Mr. Morgan, do you want me to be the team leader or take over the finance department?”
I patted Logan’s shoulder with a sly grin.
“Something as small as that doesn’t suit you two.
“From now on, you’ll be in charge of all the men’s and women’s restrooms in the entire building.”
Chapter 6
When Jessica heard my words, her perfectly done makeup almost cracked.
Her eyes widened in disbelief, and she screamed, “You want me to clean the restroom?!”
I raised an eyebrow, my expression showing clear irritation.
“What’s the problem?” I asked, unimpressed.
She pointed at herself as if she had been deeply insulted.
“I… I’m the company president! How could you ask me to clean the restroom?!”
I couldn’t help but laugh.
President? More like the former president!
And didn’t she know how she even got that position in the first place?
I must have been blind to hand over so many of the company’s shares to her back then.
I remember when we first started out, squeezed into a tiny rented apartment, living off instant noodles every day.
Back then Jessica was sweet and carles savie

Back then, Jessica was sweet and caring, saying she’d endure any hardship just to be with me.
I worked tirelessly, pouring everything into building up the company just so she could live a better life.
To make her happy, I transferred the majority of the shares into her name.
I treated her like a princess, never letting her lift a finger around the house.
Whenever she pouted and asked for a home–cooked meal, I’d drop whatever I was doing and cook it myself.
But her?
Once she became president, she started complaining that I wasn’t romantic enough, that I wasn’t caring enough.
She began spending more time in high–end places, surrounded by so–called successful people.
I kept tolerating her and forgiving her, but all I got in return was more of her hurtful behavior.
She even used a stand–in at our wedding to brush me off.
And now, she has the nerve to act like I insulted her by asking her to clean the restroom.
It was laughable.
Logan, standing nearby, looked just as displeased.
“Chris, I’m a senior technical expert at the company. Asking me to clean the restroom is too much!”
He furrowed his brow, looking like he’d been wronged.
I was at a loss for words.
These two still hadn’t woken up to the reality of the situation.
I said coldly, “I already arranged for you to transfer departments. You were the ones who refused.
“According to company procedures, I could fire both of you right now.”
Jessica’s face turned pale.
She bit her lip and looked at me with teary eyes.
“Chris, we’ve been together for seven years. Are you really going to do this to me?”
She began crying, trying to win my sympathy with her tears.
“Jerk! Seven years… and you just kick me out like this!”
Logan chimed in to back her up.
“Chris, you must’ve planned this all along, right? I knew it, money turns men bad!”
I couldn’t help but sneer.
That line should’ve been directed at Jessica herself.
There was a time when Jessica and I were happy together.
We fought side by side and dreamed of the future together.
But everything changed the moment she became president.
She became vain, materialistic, and even willing to betray me.
In the end, the mess we were in today was all her ove……………………..

Hearing this, Jessica had no choice but to leave with the dismissal letter in hand.
But before she left, she shot me a fierce glare, then turned and walked out of the office.
I knew she wouldn’t give up so easily.
But I didn’t expect her revenge to come so quickly.
Not even fifteen minutes later, my secretary rushed into the office in a panic.
“Mr. Morgan!
“Jessica… Jessica is on the rooftop, and she says she’s going to jump!”
Chapter 7
I thought, “Jump off the building?”
When I heard that, I was completely stunned.
I had imagined Jessica would throw a tantrum, cry, or even make a scene.
But I never expected she would actually try to jump off a building.
Was she out of her mind?
When the soft approach didn’t work, she resorted to the hard way.
Trying to play the suicide card?
A sinking feeling hit my chest as I rushed toward the rooftop.
My heart was pounding. I was really afraid she might snap and actually jump.
That would be a disaster.
