*Fuck!” I ignored the pain in my chest as I rushed out of my o
toffice.
I met my secretary in the receptionist area, she quickly rushed to me, reminding me of the meeting–how important it was for me to be there. It was for my other company, and I knew I would be doing nothing there, so I told her to clear my calendar for the day again. She tried to reason, but I shut her off by reminding her that I was the boss and that she worked for me.
Outside, a guard quickly ran to me and gave me my car keys; without a thank you, I got in and drove away. At first, I didn’t know where I was going, but reaching the road, I remembered the club; that’s the only place that would calm me down now, so I reversed the car and
It didn’t take long to get there as I was already parking: I was honestly not thinking straight as I could tell where I was and what I was doing, but I couldn’t seem to control it, and the pain in my chest didn’t stop either.

Inside I ordered a bottle of whiskey and some ice before pulling out my phone and dialing Michael’s number. Well, I was going to the call button when I heard his voice.
“I knew you would come here.” He said, and I asked what he was doing here so early, “Unlike you, I’m here to work.” He said but pulled a seat and sat across from me. Yes, this was his club; I keep forgetting that. “So, I’m guessing you found out about the child.”
“She gave him a son, Michael; they have a son. Do you know what that means?”
“Yeah, she moved on.”
“No, she had it all planned because there’s no way you can explain her getting a child right after our separation”
“I mean, she got married the same week you married Irene.”
“See, she’s even the one who proposed divorce; she fooled me,”
“You could have refused, man, I’m confused; you never wanted this woman. Why do you sound jealous?”
“W–what?” Okay, he was crazy to say that; why would I be jealous!
“You wanted Irene, and now you have her, leave this woman alone.” Michael sounded like he was defending Patricia
*I’m not jealous, you’re missing the point here. Patricia is the one who filed for the divorce. I always wondered how she did it, but now after hearing this, that bastard must have been here. He must be the one who helped her with the divorce and then married her right after.”
“It doesn’t matter what happened, you accepted the divorce, and even married Irene. She also moved on.”
“And gave him a balıy.”
“Irene was also pregnant; if she hadn’t lost it, you could have a child with her now,”
Chapter 24
“You don’t get it. Patricia owed me. Do you know I even wasted two million on her?”
“Okay, you’re my friend, but I should tell you this when you married Patricia, you never told her you would be openly sleeping with Irene. She was my employee and—”
“You fired her.” I cut him off as I was now reminded of the time I met Patricia; it was here in the club.
Irene had just dumped me, and I had just buried my parents. I came to drink my problems away when Michael humped into her, she spilled drinks on him, and he was so upset that he fired her right that minute and asked her to get out of his club. I felt terrible, so I followed her, as it was even late.
1 found her crying, and she told me how much she needed money for her mother’s medical bill. Well, I needed a wife since I had to take over from my father, so I proposed the contract, and she was quick to agree. Her mother was taken care of but still passed, but she had already signed the contract, so she was my wife even when it didn’t work out for her.
Back then I just saw her as a woman who wanted my money, as I promised to give her five million by the end of the contract. Well, we were all set to that right until she fell in love and started being weird,
Well, that weird is what I missed all these years, and I don’t know if it was love, as now hearing that she was married to another man and not only that but she gave him a child hurt me, and the way he looked at her, how he was willing to give her his wallet, all that made me feel some type of way. I wouldn’t call it jealous, but let’s just say close to it.
Michael shook me out of my thoughts when he handed me a glass of whiskey. I took it and gulped it down in one go. I passed it to him and asked him to pour me more, but he shook his head. I tried to take the bottle but he moved it away.
“Michael-
“I’ve done my research on Richard.”
“What
“Patricia’s husband.”
“Ahh-”
“He doesn’t drink, he’s a family man, he loves her.”
“I don’t care if he loves her or not, I want her.”
“And when Logan wants a woman, he must have her. I totally understand.”
“No.
you don’t
“I do, that’s why I want to help.
“You?” He nodded, making me chuckle and slightly pull the beard on my chin.
Why would he want to help me?
“Patricia didn’t like the Logan from five years:
ago.”
“She fell in love with me, what are you saying?” I laughed.
“Well, she still left him.”
“Because Irene told her I pr

proposed to her while our contract was still ongoing
“I did, yes, I didn’t want to, but when–you know what, forget about it, what’s your point?”
“Be a different man; be the man she will want to be with.”
“You know I can never change
“You can try sending her flowers; I heard she loves roses.”“”
“If you want your ex–wife, then you have to earn her, Logan” He sounded serious, which made me nod my head before I stood up. 2/3

Chapter 24
“Alcohol doesn’t solve anything; it just makes matters worse.” He added, which made me kiss his forehead; of course, he wiped it off, but I didn’t mind; he was right: if I wanted Patricia back, I should eam her, and that’s exactly what I was going to do.
I was now in my car when I pulled out my phone and dialed a number.
“Mr. Miller?”
“I need a favor”
