He stumbled into the basement room, but this room was clean as if no one had ever lived there.

Everything related to him had been cleared
It was as if he was just an unimportant stranger to her. She had planned to leave all along.
He covered his face with both hands, muffled sobs escaping through his fingers. Overwhelming regret washed over him like a flood, making it
hard to breathe.
He gripped his phone so tightly his fingertips turned white. What terrible things had he done these past few days?
He started drinking heavily day and night. Only when he was drunk could he see the Rachel who had eyes only for him.
While cleaning the room, a servant found a photo of Rachel and Ethan.
Unsure what to do, the servant brought the photo to Ethan.
He silently took the photo, and just one look brought tears to his eyes.
The two in the photo were smiling happily. At that time, Rachel hadn’t yet experienced the kidnapping, and Olivia was constantly monopolizing her parents.
Ten–year–old Ethan said he would protect Rachel for life, but twenty–seven–year–old Ethan had lost her by his own hand.
While I was resting in the hospital room, someone suddenly pushed open my door.
A middle–aged couple stormed in angrily, pointing at me and scolding, “We really raised an ungrateful child. You just can’t stand to sister happy, can you? You had to ruin their relationship?”
The woman reached out to pull me, “Rachel, go explain to Ethan quickly. Tell him you remembered wrong.”

In the struggle, my wound was aggravated, and I sucked in a sharp breath of pain. Only then did the two notice the bandages on my hands.
The woman suddenly let go of my arm, “Rachel, what happened to your hands?”
The man snorted coldly, “I bet she’s just pretending. Always telling lies, not half as good as Olivia.”
Jason returned with water to find this scene.
He pushed the two away, shielding me behind him, and sarcastically said, “Uncle and Auntie are so generous, giving away your own daughter’s credit to someone else’s daughter. Why don’t you just adopt Olivia as your real daughter?”
The man’s chest heaved with anger, “Go ahead and act with her!”
Jason gritted out, “How disgusting. You make your daughter pay the debt you owe. You don’t deserve to be parents, or even human beings!”
He took a breath and continued, “Rachel doesn’t remember you anymore. If you’re smart, you won’t disturb her life in the future. Don’t dirty her
eyes.”
The woman widened her eyes in disbelief, “Rachel, I’m your mother.”
“We’ll send Olivia away right now. Don’t scare Mom and Dad like this.”
I coldly shook off her hand, “Don’t touch me. I don’t know you.”
Hearing my voice, the woman’s eyes instantly reddened. The man’s hands also trembled uncontrollably. The two instinctively moved closer to

The two stopped in their tracks, seemingly unable to believe that their once obedient daughter would treat them like this.
Suddenly, an ill–timed ringtone sounded. The two looked at the caller ID, their eyes full of hatred. The voice on the other end was choked with sobs, “Mom, Dad, don’t blame my sister. It’s all my fault for not being good enough.””
The two cursed viciously at the person on the phone, “Stealing Rachel’s life wasn’t enough for you? Who are you trying to impress with this
act?”
“What right do you have to compete with Rachel? Get out of our house right now!”
Their voices were very loud, as if trying to prove something to me, but I just found it noisy. I pressed the nurse call button and had them thrown
out.
