Chapter 47
Chapter 47: Sutton
I pulled my hand away quickly. Closing my eyes to somehow chase them away. I never wanted to see those images again, especially not with Lucas. That wasn’t him. He didn’t do those things to me.
I was suddenly having trouble catching my breath.
I felt myself being lifted off the ground. Hands went to my face. Gentle hands. Hands I knew. Hands I trusted.
“Sutton, baby, look at me,” Lucas‘ voice echoed, trying to break through the haze of memory. “Sutton, open your eyes. Look at me.” I managed to pry my eyes open. Instantly meeting his. “Hey, baby,” he whispered. “It’s just me.”
My breathing slowed. I relaxed against his hold. The memories faded away. But his expression was pained. Fear and worry filled his eyes. My heart sank to my stomach. All my doubts came flying back.
“That was too much,” he murmured. “I never should have let it go that far.”
I shook my head. “No, I wanted to,” I insisted, tears starting to sting. “This isn’t your fault. It’s… it’s my stupid brain. I just… I want to forget everything but it won’t let me. I’m sorry. I ruined it. I messed it all up.”
“No, Sutton,” Lucas commanded. “Don’t think that. That was beyond amazing. I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoyed that. But I don’t want you to think I need…”
“I don’t,” I rushed. “I don’t. You didn’t. I promise. I just…” I released a heavy breath. I needed to find the words. I fell against his chest, wrapping my arms around him as he held me. “I… I thought about what you said last night.”
“What?” he asked.
“I was leaving because I thought you would be better off without me,” I clarified. “I thought I was just getting in the way of the life you already had. You didn’t need me complicating it.”
“Sutton…”
“I know,” I interrupted, letting him know I wasn’t finished. “I know that’s not something I get to decide. I don’t get to say how you feel. I have to learn to trust that you’ll tell me that and be honest about it.”
“I’m glad to hear you say that, baby,” Lucas replied. “But that still doesn’t mean we have to rush into anything. Certainly not anything physical that you don’t want.”
“But I do,” I blurted out. I took a deep breath. “After I came to that conclusion, I thought about a lot of things. About the things I deserve… The things I want…” I looked him in the eye. “I want you, Lucas. I can’t make any promises. I know I’m still… still so broken and there are things that I’ll be slow to trust but… who you are… what you’re offering… if it’s real… I want that. I want it with you.”
Lucas‘ lips slammed into mine. His arms tightened around my waist as he held me against him. I could feel his heart racing I was pressed so close. Breaking the kiss, he tucked me into his chest, just holding me.
“That sounds like a lot of thinking,” he said with a soft chuckle.
I sighed. “It was,” I admitted. I straightened up so I could see him better. “I still don’t know how I feel about everything else my parents, my real father, this whole lycan thing. It’s a lot. But I’m ready to start figuring it out. I need to know why my mother kept so much from me. And how.”
“And your wolf?” Lucas asked. “I want you no matter your decision, Sutton. You need to know that. I’m not insistent about this for me. I don’t want you to give up such a gift without fully understanding it. She’s there, Sutton. If you want her.”
I bit my lip as I grinned. “I like Rhonen,” I told him coyly. “I enjoyed our time together last night. And I may be a little curious about what that could feel like.”
“Just a little?” Lucas chuckled.
“Okay, maybe more than a little,” I said. “I think I’d like to meet her.”
“Good,” Lucas said. “Because Rhonen and I certainly do.”
The way he looked at me then chased all my doubts and insecurities away again. I leaned in and kissed him, wanting to hold onto that feeling. I pressed against him as I coaxed him to open for me. He responded, sending electricity straight to my core again. It felt powerful… knowing I could affect him so easily. I deepened the kiss. His hand grabbed my hair again.

Chapter 47
“Sutton…” he warned. “Don’t push.”
“Lucas….” I breathed, taking his hand from my waist and sliding it up my thigh. “I like how you make me feel. I want to feel it again.”
He growled as his lips slammed into mine. His tongue instantly sought mine and his hand moved further up my leg. I hissed as his thumb found my clit beneath my panties. Pushing them aside, he thrust his fingers into my entrance, making me cry out.
Letting go of my hair, his arm went around my waist. Lifting me slightly to my knees, giving himself more leverage to continue his onslaught. I moaned in pleasure as he pushed in and out.
“I told you I’d make you feel good,” Lucas rasped. “I always keep my word, beautiful.”
His movements were as deft and skilled as the last time. Better even. He knew exactly where to touch, exactly how to touch, to have me climbing toward my release quickly. My fingers laced in his hair. I kissed him needily but that couldn’t stifle my cries for long as I approached the edge.
My muscles tensed. My walls tightened. A rumbling growl vibrated through me, sending me teetering over the edge. My body convulsed as I held onto him, relying on the arm around my waist to keep me upright. Until I fell against him, breathless and limp as my body tingled from the aftermath of my release. I rested my head on his shoulder as he kissed my cheek with a quick chuckle.
“I will make you feel this good whenever you want, baby,” he insisted. “Watching you come apart from my touch is all the pleasure I need for as long as you want.”
