Chapter 146
Chapter 146
William and Monica’s faces turned pale as they rushed toward the ward.
Carole’s eyes went wide, panic setting in. “What? That’s impossible…”
“The medicine you had Dr. Terrell switch for him caused his blood to flow backward and his heart to stop.” Quiana said in a cold voice. “Aren’t you afraid his ghost will come looking for you in the middle of the night?”
“That’s impossible. You’re lying!” A chill ran from the tips of Carole’s toes up to her chest. She shook her head frantically. “No, it can’t be! The medicine I had Dr. Terrell give him was for…”
The words slipped out before she realized what she was doing.
Quiana smirked even more, her lips curving slightly. Carole’s face turned pale. The truth was undeniable, and there was nothing more to say.
William stormed out of the ward, his voice gritted with anger. “What did the Hanson family ever do to offend the Wilson family, Sean? How could your daughter be so ruthless?”
Sean stood frozen, unable to comprehend. “Carole… Is it really you?”
Carole shook her head, stumbling backward, her voice pleading. “No! It wasn’t me. I swear!”
Elliott slapped her across the face again, his fury reaching a boiling point. “Is this what you learn from me?”
Carole was stunned by the slap, but she still denied everything. “I didn’t do it. What would I gain from hurting Tom?”
Quiana stepped closer. “You weren’t trying to hurt Tom. You were trying to get back at me. If you have a problem with me, you can come and find me anytime. I’ll fight you if that’s what you want. But…”
Quiana’s voice grew even colder, like a storm building up, making everyone around her step back. “You should never have involved an innocent person to hurt me.”
Carole trembled, the air thick with a deadly chill. Her legs gave way, and she grabbed Sean’s shirt in desperation, finally feeling frightened. “Dad! Help me!”
Zack scoffed, “Now you’re scared, huh? What were you thinking when you were causing all this harm?”
Julius‘ eyes flashed with fury.
Sean couldn’t believe what he was hearing, but as a father, he had to protect his daughter. “Quiana, what has Carole done to you that makes you go after her?”
William’s face darkened. “The evidence is clear, Sean,” he said, his voice low and accusing. “Are you still trying to deny it? Do you think we’re fools?”
Monica leaned against the wall, her eyes swollen and red from crying. “What did the Hanson family ever do to you, Sean? Why are you trying to destroy us?”
William and Monica had known each other since childhood, growing up together. After more than thirty years, they finally had a son and loved him more than anything.
Suddenly, the sound of an alarm echoed from the ward, Shane came out. “He needs surgery right away.”
“Doctor!” Monica cried out in panic.
Carole finally reacted, staring at Quiana. “Tom is not dead, right?” Her voice was full of disbelief. “Did you lie to me?”

Chapter 146
Quiana didn’t even glance at her, simply turning to enter the ward. She checked Tom’s pulse and, glancing at the heart monitor, said in a grave tone, “Get him to emergency right now. She grabbed a nurse. “Find me a clean surgical gown.”
William stepped in her way. “What are you doing?”
Quiana pursed her lips, her gaze unyielding. “Right now, I’m the only one who can save your son.”

William felt his heart lurch at Quiana’s look, but even if she wasn’t the one responsible, he couldn’t trust his son’s life to her.
Monica grabbed her, her hands trembling. “I won’t let you touch my son again!”
Quiana took a deep breath, trying to suppress the rage boiling inside. She said with chilling seriousness, “If I failed to save him, I would let you do anything to me.”
