Quiana wasn’t as innocent as she appeared. While no one could confirm if she was at the camp last night, the lack of evidence made it impossible to prove either way,
Steven cleared his throat, changing the topic. “Now that Quiana’s here, let’s get ready. Meet downstairs in 15 minutes. We’re heading out for training today.”
A trainee exclaimed, “Wait, we’re actually going out?”
Another girl cheered, “Oh, thank goodness! Finally, we can leave this place!”
After two weeks of confinement, the girls erupted in excitement. The issue with Quiana was quickly forgotten.
The girls rushed to change, while Quiana quietly slipped into the restroom. As she shut the door, she pressed a hand to her aching belly, cursing, “Damn it!”
“Quite the nasty injury you’ve got there, huh?” Edith’s alluring voice echoed.
Quiana spat out blood, licking her teeth. “Goddamn it
Their fight was brutal, a life–or–death struggle. A blow like that would’ve crippled anyone else, but Quiana, tough as steel, survived.
Edith chuckled. “You haven’t been in action all these years, yet Enigmatic’s already targeted you twice in six months. Quite the comeback, isn’t it?”
The first time was on The Liberty Star, and now this. Yet, a question lingered in her mind. “The Enigmatic has always been a loner, off the radar for years. Now he’s fixated on a picture of The Seraphic? Is he losing it?”
Quiana wiped the blood from her lips, eyes gleaming with twisted satisfaction. “Killing him would be mercy, releasing him from his pain.”
Oply the could say such a thing with a straight face.
Edith chuckled darkly. “By the way, Enigmatic is one of the top five in Clusia’s Elite Ranking, and you killed him. Taking a kick from him seems like a fair trade–off, don’t you think?”
“As if” Quiana hissed. She yanked out the earpiece and hurled it into the toilet, her eyes flashing with murderous intent.
Edith was speechless, thinking, ‘How do you handle a leader who’s a walking contradiction: a spendthrift and a penny- pincher? I guess I’ll just have to let her do as she pleases. I’ll work harder and make more money so she can splurge it all. What a tough life!
Thud!
As Quiana pushed the door open, a loud slam echoed. She looked up and locked eyes with Wendy, who stood frozen.
The lethal gleam in Quiana’s bloodshot eyes intensified, radiating a menacing aura.
Wendy’s mind raced. We handed in our cellphones at the camp entrance, and the entire camp is under a complete signal lockdown. No one can get any signal. We’re entirely cut off from the outside world. But Quiana
Wendy was unsure how Quiana went online and made a call, but her cold, terrifying gaze sent a shiver down her spine. She

stammered, “1… I didn’t hear anything”
Quiana’s eyes narrowed as she walked slowly toward Wendy, each step echoing like a drumbeat before a storm
Panic surged through Wendy as she stumbled back, heart pounding and breath shallow With her back pressed ap wall, the swallowed hard and stammered. “Your secret’s safe with me
Quiana moved closer, raising her arm. Watching Wendy tremble, squeezing her eyes shut, the chuckled coldly and pressed her arm against the wall, trapping Wendy. The murderous aura faded, leaving an icy stillness.
She drawled, “It’s fine. You can speak if you’d like to
Wendy blinked her eyes open, surprised to find no pain, and found Quana’s alluring face mere inches from her. She swallowed hard, her voice shaky. “I swear, I won’t tell anyone!”
Quiana gave a nonchalant smile, pulling her hand back casually.
She spun toward the sink, then paused, pulling a narrow dark blue boat from her pocket. Without a word, she tossed it to Wendy. “Here, this is for you”
