Chapter 190

“What happened?” someone questionril.

Joyce twisted her ankle! Help a voice yelled.

“Mr. Smith!” another called.

A crowd gathered around Joyce, who sat on the ground, chitching her ankle, her face strained with pain as sweat trickled

down.

Upon seeing her swollen ankle, Steven immediately pulled out his phone. Tm calling the medics now?

The medics arrived promptly, but Ryan stayed with the girls undergoing health checks. Since the route was smooth and the cool weather made serious issues unlikely, twisting an ankle was the last thing anyone had expected.

“Let me see.” A serene voice broke through the girls‘ chatter around Joyce. As soon as they realized it was Quiana, everyone fell quiet.

Viola wiped the sweat from her forehead. With cameras watching, she forced a smile that didn’t entirely hide her ureaum “Take a look? You’re not a doctor, Quiana. Will glancing it make it better?”

Nora sneered, adding, “I heard she studied forensic pathology. That counts as real medicine, right?”

“Quiana’s just trying to help. What’s your problem?” Sofia retorted, frowning. “Do you really think Quiana would harm Joyce?”

“Who knows?” Lily muttered softly. With them together, verbal skirmishes were inevitable.

Steven felt a headache forming. “Enough. You all keep running,” he ordered firmly. “I’ll stay with Joyce for the ambulance”

“Huh?” Viola, looking displeased, uttered, “Mr. Smith, Joyce is already hurt. Do we have to keep running?”

Steven looked at her, asking, “Did you twist your ankle, too?”

right of Steven’s authority was unmistakable. He’d debuted early, and his seniority commanded respect. When he turned serious, the intimidation was palpable. Viola was caught off guard by his response..

“Hey–what are you doing?” Yvette yelled.

In that momentary lull, Quiana had slipped forward, reaching for Joyce’s ankle, but Yvette grabbed her arm.

Quiana turned her head, saying coolly, “Let go.” Her gaze was so icy it sent a shiver down Yvette’s spine, prompting the latter to release her grip.

Quiana, expressionless, knelt down, removed Joyce’s shoe and sock, and held her ankle. Her hands were so cold that their chill seeped through to the bone.

Joyce bit her lip, looking at Quiana as she began, “You-

“The bone’s displaced, Quiana said, gazing up calmly. “I’ll fix it. It’ll hurt, so endure for a bit.”

“Huh?” Joyce barely got the words out before a sharp pain shot through her, and she gasped. “Ah!”

“Quiana, what are you doing?” Viola snapped, seizing Quiana by the shoulder. “Her ankle’s broken! Are you trying to make it

worse?”

Quiana’s eyes narrowed, and she swiftly twisted Viola’s wrist, pinning her in place with a grip around her neck. Radiating a

chilling aura, she warned, “Think I’m someone to mess with?”

“You…” Viola gasped, her face going pale as the other girls took a few steps back in fear.

Jessica’s expression shifted, and she stepped forward, snapping, “Quiana, what are you doing?”

Nora frowned, adding. “Viola wasn’t wrong. You’re not a doctor–what if you hurt her?”

“Quiana, we know you mean well. Viola’s just worried you’d mess things up Calm down,” Yoselin pleaded with concern, gently prying Quiana’s grip. But Quiana’s fingers held firm, and her demeanor radiated a terrifying bloodlust.

“Quian–Sofia called, worried Quiana would act recklessly.

“I’m the one in pain here–not you!” Joyce interjected, in pain and fed up with the bickering.

“Quiana, release Viola. Steven ordered sternly.

Quiana obediently loosened her grip, letting Viola stumble backward, where she landed hard, clutching her neck as she gulped for air.

Quiana glanced down at Joyce. Try moving your ankle,” she instructed, her intimidating presence adding a commanding pressure that was hard to disobey.

Joyce braced herself as she gently rotated her ankle. To her surprise, the sharp pain she’d been expecting never came. She moved several times but still felt no pain.
