Chapter 196
“What? Did she got first place?” someone asked.
“Could that blur that we could barely see really have been her?” another said.
“We clearly left her behind,” somebody chimed in.
“If she was running that fast, was she just playing with us?” another person questioned.
Viola and the others who had been flattering Lucy now looked as if they had just been slapped. Everyone else had also assumed Lucy would come in first, but now Quiana had caught up and taken first place.
Cheers erupted on one side, while a gloomy silence hung over the other.
On stage, Quiana had already outstripped Lucy by so many votes, but now she was also beating her in the race.
Lucy had entered the training camp with so much confidence, but now she kept getting crushed by someone she viewed as a worthless nobody from the slums.
Her nails dug into her palms, her face darkened, and she could not stand the scrutinizing gazes around her any longer. Biting her lip, she left for her dorm without waiting for Steven to announce the rankings or the rewards for the top five.
Sofia, beaming with joy, stuck her tongue out at Viola and her friends, giving Quiana a thumbs–up. “You’re amazing!” she praised.
Quiana raised her brows, wrapping an arm around Sofia’s shoulders with a devilish grin. “It was a piece of cake,” she said.
The remaining trainees finished the race one by one, legs wobbly from exhaustion. Many skipped dinner and collapsed into: bed, not wanting to move.
The next morning, Steven gathered everyone in the training room to announce the rankings. “First place, Quiana!”
When he said that, many were still in disbelief, but the results were clear.
Some sneaked a glance at Lucy, who was sulking with an ugly expression, while Viola and her friends looked flushed with embarrassment.
Steven thought the show would blow up if it aired, and he was curious about Quiana’s feelings, so he called her out, asking, “Quiana, would you like to say a few words?”
Quiana glanced up coolly, unfazed. “No,” she replied.
Steven was speechless. He had always been praised for his high EQ and IQ, even taking special training in hosting before joining Miracle Show. Yet with Quiana, he felt like he had hit a dead end as a host.
He cleared his throat awkwardly and moved on. “Let’s continue.”
“What’s with the attitude?” one girl whispered with a mocking tone.
“She’s just that good,” replied another, rolling her eyes.
A few girls at the front were whispering, their tones full of sarcasm.
Sofia shot them a glance and muttered, “Jealous much?”
The top five trainees were rewarded with phones, but they did not have internet access.

The other three winners grumbled softly, unwilling to make a scene that might leave a bad impression on the mentors. No one wanted any unnecessary trouble.
For Quiana, it was just a way to play with a phone openly.
Steven signaled for them to be quiet. He said, “Since everyone is tired from yesterday’s run, I’ll treat you all to duck confit for lunch. Let’s do our best for the next performance!”
“Yay!” everyone cheered.
Those eliminated left tearfully, while those who stayed became excited.
The next
performance would be in seven days, with 79 trainees being narrowed down to 50.
They took one day to rest, then dove back into intense dance practice.
