Winona’s mind immediately flashed to how Quiana had, with just a few words, dismantled the entire production and caused her to lose her role.

Zack porked up his ears to listen from the back.
They were shocked when they learned that Julius would act as Hugo’s parent,

“I didn’t have to convince him of anything,” Hugo replied with a confident smirk. “He’s obviously trying to get close to my sister, so he’s working through me to get on the inside.”
Well, Hugo was not wrong. But it still somehow felt unbelievable.
Julius had been ignoring intercepted shipments, had stopped looking for the elusive Seraphic, and hadn’t even pursued the “Mystic Pill‘ within reach–all because of Quiana.

When Julius arrived with Zack and Shape, the school’s dean was personally aleited.
Hearing the purpose of the visit, the dean was taken aback. “You’re saying…you’re here as Hugo’s parent?”
After all, the dean had never heard of Mr. Juljus Hawley having a child. Indeed, there wasn’t a nine–year–old in the Hawley family.

“But Julius is only twenty–three–how could he have a son Hugo’s age?”
Julius looked over and asked, “Is that a problem?”
Without anger or a smile, just that one sentence made everyone’s scalp tingle with unease.
The dean immediately felt a chill, a tension that left him practically sweating. He quickly escorted them to meet Mr. Sullivan, Hugo’s teacher, for a “parent–teacher” conference.
Mr. Sullivan, who was used to a quiet office, felt his pulse spike. Never in his life had he expected to see the intimidating Mr. Julius Hawley in his school, much less for a parent–teacher meeting.
Flustered, Mr. Sullivan finally managed, “Hugo… has been accused of cheating on his exams.
Hugo huffed. “I did not cheat!”
Mr. Sullivan said carefully, “Well, Mr. Hawley, even if you’re here as his guardian, you’d want the truth, wouldn’t you?”
Julius glanced at Huga. “What happened?”
