Chapter 129 She Was Anxious.

I stared into his eyes and said, “Flowers wither easily, they need careful attention and care. They’re too fragile, and that’s not suitable for me.”
“Tiffany, you’ve been so sharp with people lately. You’ve really changed.” Shawn said with a helpless yet affectionate look, leaning back in his chair.
Looking at him, so refined and handsome, with such a doting gaze, the me from my previous life would have fallen head over heel.
Now, when I saw attractive men, all I wanted to do was crush them professionally; the desire to be their wife was gone.
I’ve become more sharp–tongued. Do you not like it?” I raised an eyebrow, a hint of challenge in my expression
cony meant
Shawn shook his head, amused as he carefully examined me. “No, I like it this way. You’re charming, not like a peony to be admired, but more like a rose with thors.”
1 lazily ran my fingers through my hair, resting my chin on my hand as I gazed out the window. “So, whether I have thorns or not, in your eyes. Ell always just be a flower.”
Shawn froze for a moment.
Just then, our delicious lunch was served. Shawn lowered his voice, saying, “All right, let’s stop arguing. Let’s eat
1 ate leisurely, but Shawn seemed to suddenly have something on his mind. He didn’t eat much, though he did drink half a bottle of red wine.
“Tiffany, if there’s anything you need help with at work, just let me know.” Shawn seemed to sense that I wanted to focus on my career, and he started trying to please me.
“Okay, if there’s something I don’t understand, I’ll ask you for advice, I replied, not holding back since he offered.
“Advice?” Shawn looked at me with amusement. T’m your husband, not a stranger. That word choice doesn’t fit.”
I took a bite of steak, chewing as I said, “If I saw you as my husband, I’d lose all motivation to learn. But if I see you as a teacher, that’s a different story.
Shawn shook his head, sighing. “Fine, you can see me as whatever you want, As long as it makes you happy,”
Hallway through the meal, Shawn’s phone rang. He glanced at it, stood up, and said, “I’ll take this call.”
As I watched him walk out of the dining room and stand in the hallway to take the call, I had a feeling it was probably Queena calling.
Queena must be getting anxious. She likely knew that Shawn brought me to Craneport to buy a house. Moreover, Shawn seemed to be wanting to settle down lately, and Queena probably noticed that, too.
She was anxious, but I wasn’t.
I hoped she would take action soon, because that way, when Shawn decided to be with her, he would feel even more guilty
towards me.
When Shawn returned after the call, he acted as if nothing happened and continued eating.
I decided to pretend I hadn’t suspected anything. After dinner, Shawn took me shopping. He praised how much my bgure had improved lately, and we ended up buying quite a few clothes, bags, and even some jewelry.
Watching Shawn swipe his card with such case, I couldn’t help but sigh

By the time we got back from Craneport, it was already dark. Yuna insisted on going home, so my mother–in–law and sister- in–law took her back.
Seeing them, I couldn’t help but feel a little anxious. Did they know about Shawn and me going to Craneport to buy a house today
“Mom, Hazel, you should head back early. Shawn said, not bringing up the topic.
Hazel’s gaze on me was full of hostility, as if she were looking at an enemy. She still held a grudge from the last time I confronted her in Craneport.
“Did you two go out and have fun?” Hazel asked nonchalantly.
“I just took your sister–in–law out to relax, Shawn replied indifferently.
“So, because you two are so in love, you just dump the child on us to look after?” Hazel said, then turned her gaze to me. Tiffany hasn’t worked in years, and now she suddenly wants to work. I suspect she just wants to be lazy. Yuna’s her kid, shouldn’t she care for her?”
Yuna curled up on the sofa, saying nothing, looking much quieter than usual.
Susanna quickly interjected, “Hazel, enough. Tiffany wants to work because she’s looking for a change in her life. If Shawn is okay with it, then that’s fine.”
“Hmph, Mom, you’re just too nice to her. She doesn’t care about this family anymore. She doesn’t even care about Yuna- she’s not fulfilling her responsibilities as a mother. She’s just freeloading Hazel snapped. Her hatred made her blunt.
Shawn’s expression instantly darkened, his voice sharp. “Hazel, enough. She is your sister–in–law.”
Hazel was proud and arrogant, and because Shawn had doted on her since she was a child, she always tried to assert her dominance over me in front of him. This was the classic dilemma–the strained relationship between a mother–in–law, daughter–in–law, and sister–in–law. There was always someone who had to quietly step back.
