Chapter 140 Shawn Mentioned About Queena
“I just went out to cat. Why are you making a fuss?” I lifted one brow and asked.
“Who did you eat with?” Shawn asked sharply.
I shrugged, my tone lazy. “I didn’t question you about your plans today. So why are you so interested in mine?”
He went quiet. His lips parted slightly, but no words came out.

He finally said. “Yuna wanted to visit Disneyland. I had some spare time in these couple of days, so I brought her here. Do you want to join us?”
I let out a small laugh. “Wouldn’t that be awkward for me?”
He didn’t enjoy the way I said that. His voice dropped a little. “You’re her mother. Why would it be awkward? The truth is, you just don’t want to be here.”
I gave a light nod. “I’ve got deadlines to meet. I’m really too busy. Please take care of her while I’m not around.”
He sighed. “It’s hard for a man to take a little girl around. Ms. Tackman happens to be on leave and back in Sylvania. She’s with Yuna now, they went out to have fun. I stayed at the hotel to catch up on work.”
That caught me off guard. I hadn’t even asked, and he was already bringing up Queena.
He continued, “I figured you’d assume things. It’s better to tell you directly.
I narrowed my eyes, my voice light but sharp. “Such a coincidence, huh? You’re in Sylvania and Queena’s also on her leave. Sounds like something you arranged.”
He said, suddenly stern, “Tiffany, don’t make it into something it’s not. It really is a coincidence.”
I tilted my head and smiled faintly. “Coincidences aren’t that common. I’m not a fool. Anyway, enjoy yourselves. I won’t be worrying.” Honestly, I hoped the three of them could just stay in their little bubble and leave me out of it.
I ended the call. It felt like Shawn had something more to say, but I didn’t wait to hear it.
Afterward, I spent half an hour doing yoga to relax, then threw myself into studying Englarian. I needed to be fluent enough because there was a business trip to Francia coming up next week, and had to accompany someone for a negotiation.
It wasn’t until late at night, when exhaustion started to set in, that I noticed a new message had come in. Someone had sent me two pictures.
They were from Queena. One showed Yuna sleeping peacefully, and the other came with a short note, “Mrs. Hartwell, no need to worry. Yuna had fun today and is now sound asleep.”
I didn’t reply, simply turned off the lights and went to bed.
I assumed their little family trip in Sylvania would last at least a few inore days, but to my surprise, they returned the very next afternoon. Yuna was worn out from all the fun, moaning nonstop about how sore her legs were. She demanded I give her a massage.
Later, when Shawn finished his meeting, he came over. At that moment, I was using one hand to massage Yuna’s legs and the other to type on my laptop.
His brows furrowed as if he thought I wasn’t doing enough. Without saying anything, he gently picked up the sleepy Yuna. His eyes drifted to my screen. “You’re heading to Francia too?” he asked.
I gave him a brief nod. “Yes. I want to see the quality myself.”

His expression hardened. Ti the boss here, and I’m not giving you permission, Shawn said, his tone cold and unwavering.
I stared straight at him, refusing to back down. You say you’re giving me freedom, that you support my career, but those are just nice–sounding lies.”
Shawn’s face darkened, clearly annoyed that I threw his own promises back at him.
“Im just concerned. It’s risky for you to head overseas alone,” he said.
“You fly to other countries all the time and come back just fine, don’t you?” I snapped.
He pressed his lips tightly together, “Men and women aren’t the same. You’re… not like others. Your look makes people worry
about you
I froze for a second. What nonsense.
“You admire flowers, but you’re scared when they bloom under the sun. That’s how pitiful you are. I rose to my feet, done with the conversation.
He was speechless. Furious and humiliated, he stormed off with Yuna in tow.
I wasn’t about to wait for his approval. If the company wouldn’t cover my flight, I’d pay for it myself.
Later that day, just after four, I got a message from Queena. She asked if I could come downstairs for coffee.
1 let out a cold laugh. So, she finally cracked and made the first move.
Maybe it was the pregnancy. She didn’t seem like someone who wanted to waste a minute.

When I walked up to Queena, a glass of lemon water sat in front of her. Sour? Was she carrying a boy?
She didn’t look surprised to see me. With a faint smile, she asked, “Mrs. Harwell, what would you like to drink? I already got you a latte, hope that’s all right?”
“That’s fine.” I took the seat across from her. Sunlight filtered through the window, highlighting the pale tone of her skin. But even with that, her gaze stayed sharp and full of purpose.
“You must have plenty of spare hours today.” I took a slow sip of the latte she’d arranged and added with a light laugh, “Wasn’t today your day off?”
She replied easily, “Yes, I actually came here just to talk to you over coffee. Queena never wasted time on small talk. She got straight to the point. “I need to speak with you. It’s about Shawn.”
