Chapter 146 Who Got Queena Pregnant?
Finished
I couldn’t tell him the truth, because I was the only one who bore the pain of being betrayed by my own child. And as for cutting ties with Yuna. I wasn’t going to change that decision.
I muttered, “Maybe I’ve just grown cold and heartless, it’s not because of anyone in particular.”
“She’s your biological daughter. You raised her with care for six whole years. How can you be so cruel?” Shawn’s voice carried a sharp edge as he defended Yuna.
I met his eyes and let out a faint, bitter laugh. “You’ve never lived my life, never carried this weight. A moment ago, I didn’t even want to breathe anymore. Why would I worry about someone else’s future now?”
He went quiet, his face flushed and his lips trembling with unspoken words.
I dropped my voice, speaking slowly, “Before I can love others, I have to learn how to love myself first. Please, let me have
that chance”
For a long moment, he said nothing. Then he gave a small nod. “All right. I won’t argue about how you treat Yuna. But earlier. Queena said something about taking the divorce settlement. Don’t tell me you were actually tempted by that?”
My chest tightened. He brought up the divorce settlement so suddenly. How could I pretend not to care?
That much money could change everything.
“I’m not really someone who deserves that kind of wealth..
“Yes, you are,” he cut in, locking eyes with me. “If we were to divorce, I’d make sure you got it.”
I lifted my head, searching his gaze. “You mean that?”
He nodded without hesitation. “If someone ends a marriage because of me, I won’t hold back. I’ll give far more than what’s
fair.
My heart pounded. Shawn was never one to be stingy. If he was the reason behind a divorce, he would always offer more than expected.
Truly, if you’re going to marry someone, choose a man with a conscience.
“I believe that it’s time for us to get a divorce.” Since the conversation had already come this far, I figured it was time to drop
the bomb.
Shawn’s expression tightened. His brows drew together as he studied me. “After everything I just said, none of it touched you? You still want to divorce me?”
1 gave a small, bitter smile. “If we don’t divorce now, how much longer do we drag this out? I can be patient but Queena won’t wait forever.”
Frustration flickered in his eyes. “What is she so impatient about? I already turned her down. She and I only have a boss–and- employee relationship.”
I tilted my head and said calmly, “Shawn, you always see yourself as someone mature. Then as a grown–up, shouldn’t you be accountable for what you do and say?”
He stared at me, confused for a moment, then slowly nodded. “Yes, I should.”
I quickly dug into my bag, pulled out a printed paper, and slapped it on the table in front of him. “Take a proper look. Queena is pregnant. Isn’t it about time you take responsibility?”
Maybe I was too rough. When the paper hit him, the corner left a red mark on Shawn’s cheek. He didn’t say a word at first. He

freeze.
“Check the name again.” I said flatly.
He finally noticed the name at the top, Quenna Tackman. In an instant. his brows furrowed deeply. With that bizarre logic of his, he asked. “Why do you have Queena’s pregnancy test results?”
There was no point pretending anymore. I hired a detective to follow her. That photo came from the detective. Queena is expecting a child. So. Shawn, when are you planning to pick up prenatal supplies and drive her to doctor visits?”
He gave
me a look I couldn’t read. Then, without saying much, he laid the sheet on the desk, rose from his seat, and asked. “Is that why you left home today?”
I stared at Shawn, calm and collected. No fear, no guilt. But something twisted in my chest. Why was he so composed!
Did he already know Queena was pregnant?
“Isn’t that
reason enough?” I asked, my tone icy.
He let out a sharp, mocking laugh. “You actually think the baby is mine?”
“Isn’t it?” In the past. Queena once ended a pregnancy and it had been his. He felt so guilty he tried to make it up to her in every way he could.
“That’s impossible, Shawn replied, hands shoved deep into his pockets, his expression dark. “Nothing like that ever happened between us. That child isn’t mine.”
My eyes widened in disbelief. “You’re lying
He noticed how shaken I was and spoke softer. I’m being honest. Why won’t you trust what I say?”
“Then who got her pregnant?” I asked, a chill creeping through me. Dread rose in my chest. I thought I’d finally cornered him, found the one truth that would make him feel ashamed enough to end this marriage, divide the assets, and let me go.
But now
