Chapter 196 What Is Your Name?
I shook him off without a word, and Shawn looked at me with resentment.

It was past 2 p.m. when the guests left, and Ethan walked over to me. He hadn’t been drinking, and his eyes were deep and calm.
“I’ll head out first,” Ethan said. His gaze was more intense than usual, though he restrained his emotions, appearing both gentlemanly and composed, with impeccable manners.
I nodded gratefully at him. “Thank you for coming to support us, and thank you for your sincere cooperation.”
Ethan smiled and nodded. “Wishing your business great success. If you ever need help, just let me know.”
“Okay, take care.” I walked him to the door. He glanced back at me twice with reluctance, then turned and drove away.
I might’ve been standing too long–my high heel wobbled on the carpet, and I almost toppled over to the side, but an arm quickly caught me.
Jace whispered, “Want to sit down and rest a bit? You’ve been standing for hours.”
I was indeed tired, but the hard work had paid off, so the fatigue felt rewarding.
Jace complained softly, “This hotel is owned by the Hartwells. Why are you working so hard for them? What’s the point?”
I smiled at him. “For the money, of course.”
“You’re just a manager. Even at best, you’ll make just over a million a year. Is it really worth it?” Jace mumbled.
“A million’s not bad. Besides, I have other performance bonuses too.” I gave him a mysterious smile, not wanting to explain
more.
Jace blinked, then chuckled. “If it’s for money, then fine. Just don’t get carried away and end up laying the foundation for your ex–husband to marry someone else.”
I looked off into the distance–Shawn had been drinking quite a bit and was still chatting with someone. Beside him, Amy stood very close. Whenever he lost his balance, she would conveniently reach out to steady him.
I took out my phone and secretly recorded the scene.
Queena didn’t show up today. I didn’t know why. Logically, she would had wanted to come–unless Shawn didn’t let her.
In any case, the day went by smoothly, and the hotel officially opened for business.
I was in a lounge room, massaging my sore calves, when suddenly the door opened and Hazel walked in.
I looked at her coldly.
Hazel didn’t look too happy either, but she took the initiative to say, “Relax, I’m not here to argue with you.”
“Something you need?” I asked coolly.
Hazel sat down on the sofa next to me, giving me a once–over. “You really stole the spotlight today. All the men out there are talking about you.”
I paused. “Talking about what?”
Hazel looked annoyed and jealous. “Of course they’re saying you’re pretty. They say Shawn is lucky and that you have more class than a celebrity. You must be secretly thrilled, huh? From a housewife to a star–once you’re divorced, you won’t have any trouble finding someone new.”

innocent, but I think he’s the most clueless one. He has no idea what you’re really like.” Hazel got more worked up as she spoke, as if she’d seen through my very soul and she was restless.
Just then, Jace walked in, holding a pot of tea. After entering, he took off his mask and handed me a glass of water. “Ms. Mayfield, have some water.”
Jace had that classically handsome face–no need to find the right angle. He looked good from every direction, 365 degrees of rugged charm.
At that moment, Hazel saw him and lit up like a butterfly spotting a flower–her eyes widened.
“He works here?” she asked me, then turned to Jace with keen interest. “Hey, what’s your name?”
It was only then that Jace noticed the girl in the beige cocktail dress sitting on the sofa behind him, about the same age as him.
“I’m asking you. What’s your name? Shawn is my brother; I’m the Hartwells‘ eldest daughter. I’m Hazel.” She smiled brightly, her eyes practically sparkling.
As I sipped my water, I observed Jace. He was being chased by debt collectors, owing 500,000. Now, with a rich girl openly showing interest in him, I wondered if he’d respond eagerly.
Jace only gave her a glance, not even bothering to reply.
Hazel stared at him in disbelief. “I’m talking to you.”
Jace furrowed his brows slightly. “Can I help you?”
Hazel’s fair face turned bright red in an instant. She quickly said, “I just want to know your name, Is that okay?”
But Jace raised an eyebrow and replied arrogantly, “Sorry, I’m not interested to know who you are.”
Hazel was instantly crushed. Maybe it was because I was there–her face turned beet red.
Jace finished delivering the tea, then put his mask back on and left.
Hazel gave me a sarcastic look. “My mom said you hired a kept man–is that the one just now?”
I set down my teacup, looked at her calmly, and instead of answering, asked, “By the way, on such an important day, why didn’t your mom show up?”
