I could tell Yuna had started to reflect and grow, becoming more mature and thoughtful. In a way, it was actually a positive development.
Today, Jace had taken the day off, informing me that he needed two days for personal reasons. I granted his request and reminded him to submit a formal leave request when he returned.
By the end of July, it was time for the salary settlement. I made sure to instruct the HR department to include a bonus for Jace as well.
For the next three days, Yuna visited the hotel whenever she had some free time. Sometimes, she’d take a nap in my office, while other times, she’d wander off. Fortunately, there was a dedicated nanny who stayed with her, so I didn’t have to worry about her safety.
It seemed that Yuna’s frequent visits to my office had started to irritate Susanna.
She called me to a coffee shop outside the hotel, her expression clearly displeased.
“Ms. Lawrence, is there something you’d like to discuss?” I asked, my tone colder than before. Given that Susanna had been pushing for her sister to take over my role, I couldn’t bring myself to be as polite as Lonce was.
