The moment Fraser saw Mirabel, his eyes reddened instantly. For seven innuths–212 days he had dreamed of this reunion. But now that she was right in front of
him, he didn’t dare move a muscle
He was afraid it was all a dream, even more afraid of seeing coldness and disgust in her eyes.
“Mirabel “he murmured softly.
Mirabel glanced at him briefly before looking away, her gaze tuming cold as she stared at Aston.
Aston, a dominant figure in the business world who had always been the one to intimidate others, found himself feeling awloward under her frosty stare. He cleared his throat uncomfortably. “I thought you seemed much calmer lately, so I decided to notity Fraser. He was wrong to cheat, but falding your death wasn’t right either. I hope the two of you can sit down and have a rational conversation.”
Mirabel let out a cold laugh. “Rational? Aston, let me ask you this–If you get married someday and your wife cheats on you, has two kids with someone else, and hides it for two years while repeatedly betraying you in the place you first confessed your love, could you stay rational enough to talk to her?”
Aston was left speechless by her sharp retort.
Fraser, on the other hand, lowered his head, his face as pale as a ghost

“Fraser,” Mirabel called out. “I faked my death because I didn’t want any connection with you anymore. But since you’ve found me, let me make things crystal clear there’s no chance for us. Don’t waste your time with wishful thinking or believe that pestering me will eat my forgiveness and bring us back together.” She paused for a moment before continuing, “The day you and Darlena were in the Little Tree Hole. I stood outside the door and heard everything. I’ll never forget it for the rest of my life. If you have even a shred of decency left, don’t show up in front of me again. Because every time I see you, I think of that day, and it makes me sick”
Fraser looked utterly shattered. He lunged forward and grabbed Mirabel’s hand, his words tumbling out incoherently. “It’s my fault! You can punish me however you want! Even if you want to kill me to get even, that’s fine! But please, don’t leave me! Mirabel, I can’t live without you!”
Mirabel pulled her hand free. “Why would I want your life? As for how you live, that’s none of my business.”
She suddenly let out a bitter laugh. “Darlena gave you twins. Your whole family knows about it and even acknowledged her, right? You already have a son and a daughter–why not just settle down with her?”
Fraser grabbed her hand again, desperately explaining, “I’ve cut ties with her! I’ll never see her again! I’m begging you please give me a chance to make things
right!
He was completely undone, even ready to drop to his knees to plead
Mirabel yanked him up roughly. “Don’t you understand plain words? I said there’s no p

“I can’t. I can’t live without you!” Fraser was sobbing so hard his words were barely coherent.
Aston, watching from the side, sighed deeply. Though only three years older than Fraser, he had practically raised him. Never had he seen Fraser so pitiful and undignified.
Meanwhile, Mirabell had had enough of Fraser’s constant crying and pleading. In a burst of frustration, she broke free from him and grabbed Aston by the collar. Before Aston could process what was happening, Mirabel pulled him down and planted a tim loss on his lips.
Fraser’s cries stopped abruptly, his shock silencing him completely.
“I can’t be with you, Fraser,” Mirabel said coldly, “because now, I’m interested in your uncle.
Aston’s eyes widened in shock, his pupils contracting sharply.
