Darlena’s body slithered toward him like a snake. Nomally, Fraser would have lunged at her, but now he stood still, frozen like a statue.
A few seconds later, he suddenly collapsed, vomiting blood heavily
Bloodstained the sheets as Darlena screamed in tenot. Fraser struggled to stand and stumbled toward the garage.
Mirabel couldn’t possibly be in danger! He had to go find her himself!
Once in the car, he saw the envelope Mirabel had left for him still sitting on the passenger seat.
Fraser’s insides twisted in pain. He gasped for air, but the pain spread through his bloodstream with each breath, becoming inescapable.
How could he have let Mirabel fly alone? Why hadn’t he arranged for experienced pilots to accompany her?
Why? Because energy is limited, and he had been busy preparing for the twins‘ birthday. He hadn’t paid attention to these small details.
The search and rescue operation had lasted for two full days, but they had combed through hundreds of miles of ocean and found no trace of survivors.
The rescuers carefully chose their words, trying not to upset Fraser, since everyone knew how deep his love for Mirabel was.
“Sir, when a plane crashes over the ocean, there’s almost no chance of survival for the passengers, so Mrs. Mirabel may have perished.”
Fraser’s tears flowed freely, his body crumpling like a ragdoll, unable to stand without support.
But when he heard the word “perished,” he suddenly lunged forward, grabbing the rescuer by the collat, his eyes bloodshot as he screamed, “You’re lying! How dare you curse my wife! She’s not dead! She’s not dead You can’t say she’s dead!”
It took the assistant a great deal of effort to pull him away.
Fraser stood still for a long time, muttering to himself, “Today… is our anniversary. She said she’d be back. She told me to wait for her.”
He had planned a grand celebration, but now, the celebration had tumed into a funeral.
He didn’t stay at the crash site. Instead, he went alone to the wedding hall. Standing before the giant wedding photo in the center, his tears welled up again. The thought that while Mirabel’s plane had crashed, he had been with Dadena, was enough to make him wish he could all his past sell.
“Mirabel, were you scared at that time?” He gently traced the image of her face in the photo. “I promised I’d never leave you alone, so wait for me. I’ll go with you.
He swallowed an entire bottle of sleeping pills, curling up next to the wedding photo.
The effect of the pills was fast, but he didn’t die. The hotel manager noticed his condition and called an ambulance.
When he woke up, his parents were beside him, crying, “Why are you so foolish! Did you think about us before doing something so stupid?”
Fraser’s gaze was empty. “You can just pretend I was never bom. Without Mirabel, I can’t live.”
His parents fainted from–crying.
Aston looked at him with a headache. Three years ago, Fraser had fallen out with the whole family over Mirabel. Now, with Mirabel dead, he was going to follow herindeath
What was it about Mirabel that had such a hold on him?
Just as Aston was about to say something. Fraser suddenly grabbed his hand. “Uncle Aston, I keep a folder in the passenger
