Paisley parked her car in an alley a short distance from the hotel. She put away her phone, her expression neutral.
It was clear Gregory was getting anxious. The more desperate he seemed, the more curious she became about what exactly the Sullivan family was plotting
“Are you really going in! The Sullivan family definitely doesn’t have good intentions, Lucy said worriedly from beside her.
Ever since learning about Brittany’s relationship with Paisley and how the Sullivan family had ignored Paisley for so many years, Lucy had harbored nothing but disdain for them.
It was obvious the Sullivan family never acted without self–interest. Their sudden invitation to Paisley reeked of ulterior motives. Paisley was well aware of this but couldn’t help her curiosity about their plans and, more importantly, the mysterious figure backing the Sullivan family.
Of course, she wasn’t foolish enough to walk into the trap unprepared.
Glancing at the van parked behind her, filled with bodyguards Lucy had hired, Paisley instructed, “I’ll head in first. Wait here for my signal. If you don’t hear from me in thirty minutes, come in with everyone.”
Lucy nodded enthusiastically, unable to hide the excitement in her eyes. She loved doing thrilling things, and the more intense they were, the more exhilarated she felt.
Knowing her apprentice’s personality well, Paisley smiled and said, “When the time comes, don’t hold back. Smash everything–people, objects, whatever—just go all out.”
“Don’t worry. I’ve got it covered Lucy said with a mischievous grin, her tone laced with determination.

Inside the private room, the film crew members were growing increasingly uneasy as they overheard the conversation at the main table. “Gary, what’s Brittany trying to pull here? Although Brinany hadn’t explicitly stated it, her hints had been clear. She had promised that a powerful backer from her side would show up tonight, someone she would introduce to Gary.
Gary didn’t care about Brittany’s dinner party itself, but he was very interested in this mysterious backer.
This person’s identity would determine whether he had to abandon the project entirely. If the backer turned out to be untouchable, he’d have no cholor but to step away from the film, leaving another director to take over.
Although he felt guilty about possibly letting Nion down, he couldn’t afford to offend powerful figures or ruin his own reputation. Of course, this was something Gary kept to himself.
As long as there was a chance to salvage the project, he wouldn’t give up. That made the identity of Brittany’s backer all the more critical to him
