At Emery’s shop, the atmosphere was so quies you could hear a pin drop.

The reason he had come today was because of what Gregory had said the night before.
Gregory had claimed there were misunderstandings between Paisley and the Sullivan family, and Dominick thought that if those misunderstandings could be resolved, Paisley might still have a family to return to in Harrowfell
More than anyone, Dominick knew how much Paisley longed for a sense of home. But now, it was clear that his actions today had been utterly foolish. The Sullivan family was not worthy of Paisley at all.

Their main source of income came from Vanderbilt Group’s contracts, which had encouraged other companies to work with them out of respect for Vanderbilt. But now, those companies were quickly distancing themselves, no doubt due to the message Vanderbilt Group had sent out
