She had been lying lazily in bed, but immediately sat up, smoothing her disheveled hair with her fingers.
Tonight, she was wearing Yvette’s red nightgown, a strappy, plunging V–neck that accentuated her figure.
Summer quickly pulled the fabric up to cover her chest.
After a moment, she hesitantly answered the video call.
This was the first time I had ever video–called a man this late at night.
Summer was nervous and flustered.
But the man on the other end of the call seemed completely at ease.
He looked relaxed, confident, and effortlessly commanding.
The video showed his sharp, short hair, high bridge of his nose, defined jawline, and narrow, dark eyes filled with amusement. His lips curled into a slight smile, and behind him was the surreal view of a cityscape through the floor–to–ceiling windows of his balcony.
Summer felt uncomfortable, her ears turning red. “Why did you suddenly make a video call?”
“I want to see you.”
Fraser’s dark eyes were fixed intently on the woman in front of the screen.
Her skin was smooth and delicate, like fine jade. Her eyes were bright and sparkling, and her lips were a soft, seductive red.
She was clutching the fabric of her nightgown to her chest, but the red strappy dress still revealed her pale, delicate shoulders.
Fraser’s gaze darkened, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed.
Was she trying to cover up or tease me?
Didn’t she know that this half–revealed, half–concealed look was even more alluring?
His voice was deep and husky. “Summer, are you trying to seduce me so blatantly?”
“I am not!”
He was the one who initiated the video call, and now he was turning it on me.
The man’s intense, dangerous gaze seemed to sweep over Summer through the screen.
Even though he was thousands of miles away.

In the next second, she pulled the blanket over her, covering everything but her head.
The man’s voice, laced with amusement, came through. “What are you hiding? I’ve seen every part of you.”
“Pervert.” Summer grunted.
Fraser’s gaze deepened, his eyes so dark they seemed to drown’her. “Hmph, I’m just a pervert to you.”
Summer was speechless. When it came to this cunning man, she could never win.
Fraser watched the woman on the screen, her flushed face and delicate demeanor.
His smile widened.
He had been in the Ameros for two days on business, and he missed her.
He had traveled a lot for work in the past, and Summer hadn’t been his wife then.
He had never felt this way before.
Maybe humans were greedy by nature.
Once they tasted sweetness, they became addicted to it.
Fraser looked up, his gaze intense. “Did you miss me?”
“No.”
Summer refused to admit it.
“But I missed you. Summer, you heard it?”
Summer met his gaze, which was like a deep, dark vortex that threatened to pull her in.
Her heart skipped a beat.
The next moment, the man’s voice came through, teasing and casual. “I want you tonight. How can I do?”
Ah, I should have known better than to trust his words!
After hanging up, Fraser’s lips curled into a sweet smile.
His assistant, Mike, knocked on the door and respectfully handed over a stack of documents.
Fraser walked over to his desk, picked up a pen, and signed his name at the end of the contract.
He casually handed the documents back and asked, “Is the return flight on Friday confirmed?”
Mike took the documents and hesitated for a moment before nodding.
There had been an urgent problem at the subsidiary, forcing Mr. Graham to travel here to solve it. The workload was heavy, and it would have been a stretch to finish it within a week.

It seemed like something important was waiting for him back home.
But the orders of the Graham family patriarch couldn’t be ignored.

Mike hesitated for a moment before speaking.
“Mr. Graham, Anne Lastesh, the granddaughter of the Lastesh Group, is graduating from Haverford University this week. Mr. Maximus’s intention is for you to… attend the ceremony before you return.”
As he spoke, Fraser’s icy gaze swept over him, and Mike’s voice grew quieter.
Fraser looked up, his tone unreadable. “My grandfather’s intention?”
Mike stood respectfully. “Yes.”
Fraser let out a cold laugh. “Are you my person or his?”
“I am your person, Mr. Graham.”
“My person? Then why are you delivering his orders?”
The chill in Fraser’s voice made Mike feel a cold breeze on the back of his neck.
Mike bowed even lower. “Mr. Graham, I wouldn’t dare.”
Fraser’s lips twitched. “Wouldn’t dare? It seems like you’re daring enough. What, are you going to stop my plane from taking off?”
