Since the se*mbag held a press conference first, no one believed Yvette no matter how much she explained.
Society was already harsh on women, and for female celebrities, it was like being measured with a ruler. Yvette returned to how she was at the beginning.
As long as there was an event, she showed up no matter what it was.
It just so happened to be Summer’s birthday, but Yvette had an event and couldn’t make it back in time. She could only celebrate with her the next day.
At the cafe, Yvette was fuming, “That b*tch Margaret! She actually set you up! I really wanna give her a real shove!”
“Fraser already took care of it for me. This cake is really good, have a piece.”
Yvette followed Summer’s fork and took a bite. The sweetness melted on her tongue, and most of her anger dissipated.
“Well, having Bossman’s protection really makes a difference. Look at you, even the way you talk is dripping with honey.”
Summer blushed.
“Sigh, I didn’t even say anything yet, and you’re already blushing. Last night must’ve been intense, right?”
Summer thought of the two intertwined shadows from the night before.
Fraser had been ruthless, only letting her go near dawn.
They had tried every position possible.
Even Summer felt like her body had become flexible enough to take up ballet.
Yvette tilted her head, as if recalling something. “But it’s weird. With so many people around last night, and given Havenbrook’s Graham family Bossman’s popularity, why isn’t there a single trending topic about you two today?”
Hearing that, Summer finally realized that there really was nothing online about last night, like someone had deliberately suppressed the news.
Not that she was afraid of going public with Fraser. After all, her identity was a bit awkward, and she didn’t want unnecessary trouble.
But she didn’t overthink it.
Just then, Yvette’s phone rang.
“How much? 600 dollars? Are you sure?”

Not only did she have to pay damages for breach endorsement contracts, but even the dramas she had filmed were put on hold.
Overnight, she had fallen from an A–list star to a washed–up celebrity with a tainted reputation.
Even her longtime manager, Shelly Scott, had left her at this moment.
And to think she had treated Shelly so well–buying her a house, a car–she had practically done everything for her except find her a husband! Only now did she realize that when she lost power, the people around her were nothing but backstabbing rats.
The person on the other end of the call had no patience for her. “Miss, do you really think you’re still a big star? You should be grateful someone even wants to hire you. If you wait any longer, you might not even get 600 dollars. Are you going or not? If not, I’ll find someone else.”
Thinking of the endless compensation fees, Yvette swallowed her anger and gritted her teeth. “Fine, just let me know the time.”
After hanging up, she grabbed the coffee on the table and downed it in one go.
But the smooth, sweet taste did nothing to ease the bitterness in her chest.
Summer watched from the side, a little worried. “Yvette, is there anything I can do to help?”
Yvette adjusted her emotions and forced a smile. “It’s fine. My mentality is strong. Remember? I started with nothing when I first entered the industry. A little scandal like this won’t take me down.”
Summer could tell she was just putting on a brave face. “But I’m really worried about you. How about I see if someone can help clear this up?”
Even as an outsider, Summer knew that Yvette had been trending on entertainment news for days, always in a negative light.
Any random post would be something like, “Yvette, get the hell out of the entertainment industry!”
“Don’t,” Yvette waved her off. “This is nothing. I can handle it myself. You’re not even in the industry, what could you do? Are you going to ask Bossman for help?”
True, if Summer had a solution, she wouldn’t have just sat by while Yvette got dragged through the mud.
Should I ask Fraser? He probably would help…
Yvette saw her hesitating and raised a perfectly shaped brow. “Summer, I know you mean well. ‘ think you and Shelly were the two people I could trust the most. But that b*tch Shelly ran off to team the moment I fell.”

She paused for a moment before continuing. “I really treasure our friendship. And I know you don’t like mixing personal matters with interests. You and Bossman just got together, don’t let my mess complicate things.”
Summer knew how strong–willed Yvette was. “If it ever gets too much for you, I have some money. Worst
