Merry was shocked once again. “Summer, is he here for you?”
She looked at Merry’s face curiously.
Summer stood up, walked over, and left a short command. “Come with me.”

Trevor followed behind her as they walked to the end of the hallway, right in front of a white window. Trevor’s tall figure stood against the light, casting a shadow over Summer.
Summer spoke calmly. “What do you want?”
Trevor’s gaze never left her. She had her hair twisted into a high bun, and her simple, professional outfit gave her a unique kind of charm. She was still just as beautiful, standing right in front of him, yet she felt so far away.
Six months ago, she followed him everywhere. Six months later, she looked at him with nothing but cold indifference.
Trevor felt an ache in his chest. After a long silence, his voice came out hoarse. “Summer, the ones who kidnapped you… It was Peyton and Josh. Even the first time too”
Summer crossed her arms. “I saw the news. They said you were the one who reported them. Ha, how could you bring yourself to send your precious childhood lover to prison?”
Trevor’s throat tightened, and his heart felt like it was being crusheel, making it hard to breathe. That day, he had accidentally seen Peyton’s phone.
Every time he abandoned Summer to be with Peyton, she had been gloating about it, rubbing it in Summer’s face all the time. He had always thought Peyton was sweet and kind. But she had been nothing but cruel and vicious. Trevor took a deep breath. “Why didn’t you tell me? She sent you so many nasty messages. If you had told me, I wouldn’t have-”
“You would have believed me?” Summer cut him off.
Trevor fell silent. The truth was, she had told him before. But back then, he had just assumed she was jealous and making things up.
“I know nothing I say or do now will change anything, but Summer, still want to say I’m sorry.”
“I hear you, but that doesn’t mean I have to forgive you.”
Trevor’s face turned pale as he slowly dropped to one knee.
Hiding around the corner, Merry gasped and quickly covered her mouth, afraid of making a sound. So Summer was that fiance? Then what the hell have I been rambling about earlier? And the rumors they didn’t seem right. This Thor guy actually looked like he did our Summer
Summer froze. “Trevor, what are you doing?”
Trevor looked up at her. “I know my arrogance and selfishness hurt you. I don’t expect you to truly forgive me, but Summer, please give me a chance to make it up to you. I still love you”
Summer frowned. “Your love doesn’t matter to me anymore.”
“As long as you loved me once, I don’t want to give up.”
Summer was speechless. “Then go ahead and kneel on your own” With that, she turned to leave.
But in the next second, Trevor reached out and grabbed her wrist “Summer, give me a chance.”

Summer’s heart skipped a beat. She instantly yanked her wrist free from Trevor’s grasp and ran after him. The sharp sound of her high heels echoed through the hallway.

Summer chased Fraser all the way to the ground floor. Not far away, a limited–edition Rolls–Royce limo stood out in the parking lot
She walked toward it. The driver got out from the passenger seat, respectfully opening the back door. Once Summer got in, he closed the door and stepped aside.
She settled into the seat. Fraser leaned back lazily, a cigarette between his long fingers. A cloud of smoke curled around his sharp features, blurring his face. The strong smell of tobacco filled the car in an instant.
Summer choked on the sudden wave of smoke and coughed a few times.
After a while, Fraser lowered his lashes and pressed the cigarette into the ashtray, snuffing out the burning ember.
Time seemed to freeze, and the car fell into complete silence.
Then, Fraser let out a mocking chuckle. “Why aren’t you still up there? Why’d you come down?”
