Summer was woken up by a phone call. With her eyes still closed, she reached for her phone on the bedside table and answered. It was Yvette on the other end. “Summer! Have you seen the news?”
“What?”
“Today’s biggest headline in Havenbrook! The Graham Group just announced that Maximus has passed away.”
Hearing this, Summer instantly snapped awake. She sat up in bed and quickly searched on her phone. The news headlines were all about Maximus‘ death, and even the Graham Group’s official website was in black and white.
Yvette continued, “Didn’t you leave with Fraser last night? How is he? I heard some gossip that Fraser lost his parents when he was young and was raised by Maximus and Helen. Now that Maximus is suddenly gone, this must be a huge blow to him.”
Summer lowered her gaze. “Yvette, I’ll call you back later.”
She hung up and recalled waiting for Fraser last night. At some point, she had fallen asleep. Looking around the suite, the fresh flowers were still vibrant under the sunlight. After a moment of hesitation, she dialed a number she hadn’t called in a long time.
The phone rang a few times before the call was connected.
Summer gripped her phone tightly. “Fraser… are you okay?”
There was a few seconds of silence before an aged voice spoke. “Summer.”
It was Helen.
Summer bit her lip, momentarily at a loss for words.
Helen was half–lying on a hospital bed, her eyes red, her white hair disheveled. She had fainted last night and was admitted to a hospital roorn. Fraser had been handling everything and stayed by her side after finishing up the arrangements. He had stepped out briefly to speak with the hospital director, leaving his phone on the table.
When the phone rang. Helen saw Summer’s name on the screen. Instantly, her sharp, clear gaze turned cold, and she picked up. With the grief of Maximus‘ death still fresh, Summer’s call was like fuel to the fire.
Helen’s pupils burned with rage as she erupted. “Summer, do you remember what you promised me? You took 30 percent of the Stewart family’s shares from me! You agreed to leave my grandson! So why are you still breaking your word and clinging to him? You disgusting, shameless woman! You think you can manipulate your way in by getting pregnant? Let me tell you right now, don’t even think about it! If you don’t want anything to happen to your child, then stay as far away from Fraser as possible. Otherwise, don’t even dream of giving birth to this baby!”
With that, Helen hung up viciously.
Her chest heaved from her outburst, and after a moment, she steadied herself. She entered a long–known password into the phone and deleted Summer’s call log.
Just as she was about to place the phone back on the table and pretend nothing had happened, she looked up, only to see Fraser standing at the doorway with one hand in his pocket.
Helen’s heart nearly stopped. Her face paled as she clutched her chest. “My dear grandson. when did you get back?”
Fraser’s gaze was dark as he stepped inside. He reached for his phone on the table and rubbed it between his fingers. “What did you delete?”
Helen’s eyes flickered. “No, I. I just thought I saw something on your phone…”
Fraser unlocked his phone and found nothing unusual. His sharp gaze bore into Helen for a few seconds.

equipment. Fraser took a step back, crossing his arms as he watched the doctors check Helen’s blood pressure and administer an injection.
A while later, Helen’s complexion improved slightly. But Fraser’s gaze never left her. “How is she?”
The doctor responded, “She is fine, just a sudden spike in blood pressure. At her age, she shouldn’t be exposed to too much
stress.
Fraser tapped his phone lightly a few times. “Leave us.”
The doctors and nurses exited the room, closing the door behind them.
Helen forced a stiff smile. “My dear Fraser, your grandfather is gone. There must be a lot to handle at the company. You should go take care of business.”
Fraser lifted his eyes coldly. His tone was indifferent, yet carried a hint of pressure. That call just now. It was from Summer.
wasn’t it?”
Helen’s face froze. She frowned. “What are you trying to say?”
