Chapter 269 Lucas to the Rescue
Philip’s eyes were bloodshot with excitement!
This woman on my bed was Fraser’s ex–girlfriend, and she would soon be mine to take.
This feeling is inexplicably exhilarating!
Philip climbed onto the bed and was about to use his belt to bind Summer’s wrists.
Ding dong!
His hand froze.
Philip’s eyebrows furrowed deeply.
“Who the hell dares to disturb me now?”
The h
The hotel doorbell continued to ring incessantly.
Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong!
Philip glanced at the still unconscious woman, then stood up with a dark expression on his face.
After fastening his belt back around his pants, he stormed to the door and yanked it open.
Lucas stood outside, his usually gentle eyes now icy.
Philip raised an eyebrow. “Mr. Lucas? What brings you here?”
Lucas, dressed in his gray suit, didn’t mince words. “Who’s in the room?”
Philip blocked the doorway with his bulk and sneered.

“What, I can’t enjoy a woman in peace? Mind your own damn business. The Aldridge family’s influence doesn’t extend to me.”
Lucas pushed past him and walked inside.
Philip quickly followed, shouting at him.
“Lucas Aldridge! What the hell are you doing? The Dale Group and the Aldridge Group have never interfered with each other! You’re crossing the line!”
As Lucas saw Summer lying unconscious on the bed, anger flashed in his eyes.
After making sure her clothes were still intact, he exhaled in relief. Then turned around and punched Philip in the face.
“You scum!”
Caught off guard, Philip staggered back several steps.
He wiped the blood from his lip and grinned.
“You think I’m afraid of you, Lucas?”
Lucas looked menacing. “You can’t touch her.”
Philip scoffed “Oh So you want her too! I could have just said so. I would have sent her to your room when I was done.”
Lúcas lunged forward, fist raised again. Philip’s eyes gleamed with malice as he taunted.
“Mr. Lucas, if that fist lands, you can kiss your family’s precious reputation goodbye.”

“No. This woman was hard to get!”
The two men stood in a stalemate by the bed.
Philip wasn’t intimidated. Their families were in different industries.

Besides, the Aldridges were centuries–old intellectuals who prized their dignity. He knew Lucas wouldn’t risk a scandal.
Just then, Summer’s eyelids fluttered open. Dizzy, she shielded her eyes from the harsh light.
Lucas immediately knelt beside her. “Summer, are you okay?”
Seeing her awake, Philip lost interest.
Bang!
He kicked a chair violently.
“Lucas Aldridge, are you ruining my fun? This isn’t over.”
He grabbed his clothes from the floor and dressed, giving Summer a predatory look.
“We’ll meet again, honey.”
Summer met Philip’s vicious gaze, and only then did she realize the danger she was in.
Her heart pounded as she frantically checked her clothes.
Lucas gently reassured her, “You’re safe, Summer. Nothing happened.”
Still shaken, she whispered, “You… saved me. Thank you. Mr. Lucas
Lucas smiled, lightening the mood. “Does that thank you get me extra points in your heart?”
Summer avoided his intense stare, unsure of how to respond.
Suddenly, a sharp pain stabbed through her stomach.
Remembering the strange scent earlier, Summer paled. Was it poisonous?
She stood weakly, urgency in her voice. “Please take me to the hospital. Now.”
In the emergency room, Summer clutched the doctor’s sleeve. Tm pregnant. I inhaled some kind of…. have been physical effects as well. My stomach keeps cramping; is my baby okay?”

The doctor scribbled matter–of–factly on a form.
“Blood tests first, then an ultrasound. Anything can happen at three months.”

“Worst case, induced abortion.”
The word “abortion made Summer’s blood run cold. Her fingers dug into her palms.
