Chapter 274 Blame It on the Mouse
“Hello?”
It was Julia calling.
“Summer, why didn’t you come home last night?”

Only then did Summer realize she’d forgotten to tell Julia, with all the chaos at the hospital and being taken home by Fraser.
Just then, Fraser’s hot body pressed up against her from behind, his arms wrapping tightly around her waist.
He lightly bit the sensitive skin of her neck, punishingly,
“Ah!…”
Caught off guard, Summer couldn’t stop herself from making a soft sound.
“What’s wrong!” Julia immediately sounded worried. “Summer, are you okay?”
Why did Summer sound so weird?
Summer bit her lip, turned her head, and mouthed silently at Fraser: “Go away!”
She took a deep breath and quickly lied, “I had to work late, so I just went back to Brookhaven Estates. I got startled–there seemed to be a mouse.”
“A mou
Your neighborhood has mice? You should just come home tomorrow.”
felt Fraser’s wandering hands, her legs almost turning to jelly
What happened now? Did the mouse bite you?” Julia’s voice rose anxiously.
Without thinking, Summer vaguely mumbled, “Mm
“What? Seriously, the mouse bit you?”
Julia couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
She’d never heard of mice biting people like this!
Summer gripped her phone tightly, rushing out an excuse. “No, mom, it’s fine! I gotta go catch that mouse first.”
She quickly ended the call, spun around, and shoved Fraser away.
Summer’s face was flushed with embarrassment and
anger.

Fraser looked down lazily, placing his hands casually on either side of her. His voice was playful and teasing. “What exactly did I promise?”
Summer jabbed her finger at his chest accusingly. “You said you wouldn’t force me!”
Fraser raised his brows innocently. “And I haven’t.”
Summer’s ears turned red. “But you were just holding and kissing me!”
“You wanted me too, didn’t you?”
“I did not!”
Fraser took her hand and placed it over her heart, teasing softly, “Summer, good girls don’t lie.”
Flustered, Summer pushed him away and ran toward the door.
“I’m…going home.”
Fraser sounded deeply displeased. “After teasing me, you’re running away? That’s cruel.”
Summer glanced at his pants and immediately blushed bright red at the exaggerated sight.
“I didn’t tease you! You’re the one teasing me.
Fraser took slow, confident steps toward her, his voice seductive and deep. “But you enjoyed it too, didn’t you?”
Summer backed away rapidly.
As Fraser moved closer-
She turned suddenly, dashed into the guest room, slammed the door, and locked it in one swift
move!
Fraser stared at the locked door helplessly and chuckled softly.
Glancing downward, he sighed, “Looks like you’ll have to endure tonight.”
Fraser turned around, went into the bathroom, and turned the cold water on full blast.

Julia arrived at the office early.
“Summer, I’ve arranged for some professional exterminators to check Brookhaven Estates.”

“Mom, that’s really not necessary”

“How is it not necessary? That mouse must’ve been huge, judging from how loud you screamed last night!”
Summer blushed furiously at the memory.
“You’re pregnant now, so we need to be extra careful about these things,” Julia said firmly.
Julia suddenly paused, eyeing her suspiciously. “Wait…why is your face so red?”
Summer inhaled sharply. “You’re mistaken. The room’s just too warm.”
Warm? Julia didn’t think so–it was autumn, and the temperature was perfect.
Julia placed her bag down on the desk.
“Just come home tonight. I’m worried about you staying at Brookhaven Estates.”
Just then, Summer’s phone rang on the desk.
This was the number Fraser had insisted she unblock last night.
Julia approached curiously. “Who’s calling?”
Summer swiftly rejected the call. “Just someone selling insurance.”
continued, “If you won’t come home, then I’ll
y at Brookhaven Estates with you-
te phone rang again, interrupting Julia mid–sentence.
Under Julia’s suspicious gaze, Summer reluctantly answered the call.
She pressed the phone tightly to her ear.
The man’s lazy voice drawled through the receiver, “Miss me yet?”
Summer clenched her teeth and replied stiffly, pretending it was work–related, “Alright, we can discuss the project details later.”
