Chapter 276 Picked Up in Public
“Mr. Lucas, you don’t have to do this.”
Lucas casually asked, “Are you seeing someone now?”
Summer thought of Fraser and the fact she’d soon be leaving. She shook her head.
A glimmer lit up Lucas’s eyes. “Then I still have a chance.”
“May I ask what kind of person the child’s father is?”
Silence filled the air.

Just when Lucas thought Summer wouldn’t answer, she spoke softly, “When everyone else left me behind, he was the only one who stood by me without question.”
Summer understood clearly.
During that difficult time, she’d experienced Fraser’s unique kind of affection.
Even if it wasn’t love-
She knew that Fraser had genuinely treated her well, from dealing with those who hurt her, gifting her that sapphire bracelet, the fireworks display for her, to building that hotel for her…
Hearing this, Lucas looked a little downcast. “Seems like I was a bit too late.”
“But as long as you’re still single, I won’t give up.”
Summer snapped back to her senses, not sure if she was talking to Lucas or reminding herself.
“Once I leave Havenbrook, everything here will have nothing to do with me. The baby and I will start a new life.”
Evening arrived.
The outlines of towering buildings gradually lit up with neon lights, forming a vibrant, colorful skyline, dotted by stars slowly appearing overhead.
Summer finished her work and prepared to leave the office.
As she exited the building, people around her were all staring in the same direction, whispering excitedly.
“Oh

God! Look at that car parked over there! It’s one of those limited–edition Lamborghinis only fifteen in the world! That thing’s worth millions. Incredible!”
“Forget the car! Look at the guy standing next to it. He’s insanely handsome, confident, and

Summer turned to look.

Parked at the curb was an eye–catching Lamborghini, its sleek body gleaming brilliantly under the lights.
Fraser casually leaned against the car door, hands in his pockets. His handsome, clearly defined features exuded a lazy charm. His neatly fitted black shirt was unbuttoned at the top, effortlessly attracting everyone’s attention..
As if sensing her gaze, Fraser raised his eyes. Spotting Summer’s slender figure, he lifted ant eyebrow slightly, lips curving into a lazy smile.
“Honey, I’m here to pick you up.”
His casual “Honey” made the surrounding crowd instantly turn their heads to look.
Summer froze.
She didn’t know whether to approach him or run away immediately.
Under the increasingly curious and gossipy stares, Summer decided to pretend she hadn’t heard and turned to flee.
Fraser, still leaning against the car, smirked and walked over in long strides. Reaching her, he effortlessly lifted Summer into his arms, carrying her bridal–style.
Summer was suddenly scooped up right in front of Stewart Group’s building, in clear view of
everyone.
Feeling his muscular arms tighten around her, her face instantly flushed crimson.
“Whoa, he’s carrying her princess–style!”
“Total boyfriend goals! So romantic!”
“I’m jealous! Why are all the good ones always taken?”
Several senior Stewart Group employees recognized Summer, their gossip turning to surprised excitement.
“Isn’t that our boss–Ms. Summer!”
“When did Ms. Summer get married? There wasn’t any company announcement!”
“Quick! Take a picture for the group chat! Our boss’s boyfriend came to pick her up after work- this is so rare!”
Ignoring the commotion, Fraser carried Summer straight to the Lamborghini, placed her gently into the passenger seat, then circled around to get behind the wheel.

“I’ve carried you plenty of times before, but seeing you blush makes me want to tease you even
more.”
Summer shot him an annoyed glare. “This is my workplace! How am I supposed to face everyone tomorrow?”
Fraser tapped his slender fingers casually against the steering wheel, voice playful. “Maybe you should add me to your employee group chat–I can send them all a little bonus. Let them know their boss is taken.”
Summer narrowed her eyes. “Did you do this on purpose?”
Fraser smirked slightly. “On purpose? I already told you this morning I’d pick you up after work.”
Summer argued weakly, “That was just random talk.”
“Not for me.”
Fraser leaned toward her, his eyes turning deep and serious as he spoke softly, “Honey, I meant every word.”
Summer shrank back toward the door, trying to escape the overwhelming scent of pine from his body.
