Chapter 302 Hidden Pains
“Where are you going?” Summer instinctively grabbed his hand and asked.

Fraser clasped her hand in return, caressing her fingertips. His dark eyes were like a deep pool bathed in moonbeams, and he asked with a casual smile, “Can’t bear to part with me?”
Seeing the teasing smile at the corner of his mouth, Summer, a bit embarrassed, withdrew her hand, “I certainly am not.”
Fraser raised an eyebrow, his voice low and indulgent, “Good girl, I have some business to attend. to. This is the room I grew up in; nothing’s changed much. Feel free to look around.”
With that, Fraser walked out with heavy steps.
As the bedroom door closed, Fraser leaned against it, his brow furrowing deeply.
He reached for his left shoulder, where a tearing pain was emanating.
In fact, the stitches on his shoulder had split open again right at the entrance to the Stewart Mansion.
Gritting his teeth and gasping for breath, Fraser, tall and imposing, made his way slowly to the
next room.
He then had a servant call a family doctor to come and re–dress the wound.
He didn’t want Summer to know.
In the living room, Helen glared at the motionless doctors.
A burning rage simmered in her chest like molten lava, and she vented it on those around her.
“Are you not going to save her? You’re all so useless, what does the Graham family keep you around for? If anything happens to Karena, I’ll make sure you follow her in death.”
Spurred by her words, the doctors snapped to attention and hurried to Karena’s side on the floor.
Checking her breathing, they found a faint sign of life.
The doctors exchanged looks; working for the Graham family was a no–win situation.
They wondered if saving Karena and getting found out by Fraser would mean they’d be next to hit the wall.
But with Helen’s fierce gaze bearing down on them, they had no choice but to help.
In the bedroom, after Fraser left, Summer began to explore the room.

Summer couldn’t help but smile; she could hardly count how many cars Fraser owned.

Since she’d known him, he had the most extravagant habit of changing cars among anyone she
knew.
Then, her attention was drawn to a wall of certificates–boxing, racing, swimming, mountaineering, even a certificate for crossing uninhabited areas.
Beside the certificates, several black frames held images of Pudding in various poses–running joyfully and sleeping peacefully.
Summer picked up a frame; it showed a young boy with Pudding.
She couldn’t help but touch the photo of the young Fraser.
Even as a child, his features were distinct, his deep–set eyes somewhat immature, like a handsome little prince.
But the arrogance and superiority in his eyes were palpable, even through the photo.
Summer gazed at the young Fraser in the photo, her fingers gently tracing his face. So proud and cold even then!
As she looked, a familiar sensation washed over her, but she couldn’t quite place where she’d seen it before.
Just then, her phone rang.
Summer put the photo back and answered; it was Julia.
Julia, knowing Summer had returned with Fraser, was worried, fearing she might get hurt again by the Graham family.
“Summer, are you alright?”
“I’m fine.”
Summer briefly explained the night’s events over the phone.
There was a pause from Julia.
“I’m leaving on a flight tomorrow. Remember to take care of yourself. Your scandal with Lucas also has been making waves. If you’re not interested in him, you should clear things up.”
“Yeah, I know.”
Summer was only aware of the scandal after the fact.
She knew Lucas also had a hand in stirring things up.

Julia sighed over the phone.
“Summer, I hope you find happiness.”

fell on her abdomen, where she had started to feel kicking in the past few days.
It was a strange, delightful feeling.
“I’ve been thinking, once the baby is born, I’ll definitely be happy. Because I’ll have another person to love.”
They talked for a while longer.
