Summer found herself suddenly sitting on Fraser’s strong thighs. He lifted her chin and gazed deeply into her clear, beautiful eyes, his tone lazy. “Just like this?”
As Summer looked into the handsome face drawing closer, her heart raced and her breathing quickened. At that moment, Pudding, sitting beside them and feeling neglected, let out an untimely bark.
Summer’s ears heated up as she came back to her senses.
She tried to get off Fraser’s lap, but his hands were firmly around her waist, keeping her in place.
“Stay here and watch the movie with me.”
The movie was reaching its climax.
Fraser frowned, “What is this movie?”
The woman in the movie was crying and wailing, giving him a headache.
“It’s about childhood friends. The guy confesses at a high school graduation, but the girl rejects him. He goes abroad to study. When he returns, they meet again and can’t control their feelings. and get back together, but they still end up parting ways.”
Fraser wasn’t interested.
Summer added, “Yvette shot this romance drama; she asked me to watch it.”
“Oh.”
Thinking about how Yvette would surely ask about her thoughts on the movie, Summer looked at him expectantly, “What do you think of the movie?”
Fraser glanced at the screen again and didn’t mince words, “The acting is mediocre, and the plot. is cliche.”
Summer fell silent. Well, no need to be that straightforward.
At a celebration event somewhere, Yvette sneezed several times. Who’s talking about me?
Suddenly, Fraser asked nonchalantly, “Why did they break up again at the end?”

“The gu
found out that the girl actually loved him in high school but made a deal with his parents to encourage him to study abroad. He felt betrayed by living a lie and couldn’t handle it, so they split up.”
Fraser’s eyes darkened, his tone seemingly casual as he asked with a laugh, “What about you? Is there anything you’ve lied to me about?”

The more she feared his disappointment, the trade she had made with Helen to leave him for shares, her use of him to strike back at Helen, and her plans to leave Havenbrook and never
return.
But she feared that once she confessed, Fraser would be disappointed, regretting his love for her.
Happiness was like a beautiful, fragile bubble, too delicate to touch without fear.
Summer bit her lip and after a moment, gently shook her head,
Fraser’s eyes darkened further, the night’s watery shadows spreading into deep ink across his
gaze…
After the movie, Pudding was still banished to the bedroom doorway.
Pudding sat obediently, sighing, resigned to its fate.
Meanwhile, on the bed, Summer looked up at the man in front of her with a mix of sorrow and allure, her voice moaning softly, “Fraser, be gentle.”
Fraser stared intently at her blushing face, his Adam’s apple moving harshly as he spoke each word, “Say it, tell me you love me.”
The words “I love you” remained unspoken by Summer. Performing such strenuous activities. while pregnant was too exhausting, and she eventually fell asleep drenched in sweat.
As she slept, Summer faintly felt Fraser help her bathe again, blow–dry her hair, and then he held. her as he too fell asleep.
The next day, Summer and Yvette planned a beauty treatment day.
Yvette had a few days off after shooting the romance film.
In the elegant spa room, they lay on two soft massage beds, dressed in comfortable spa garments.
Yvette was having a back treatment, lying on the bed, her slender, fair back exposed as the beautician applied essential oils and massaged her back with professional techniques.
As they chatted, Yvette asked, “Summer, what did you think of my drama?”
Summer, eyes closed, opted for a simple facial hydration treatment. Just cleaning her skin and applying a hydrating mask.
The cool, moist mask made her already fair skin look even more delicate.
Hearing Yvette’s question and remembering Fraser’s “cliché plot, mediocre acting” comment, Summer coughed and replied, “It’s okay.”

The beautician apologized, “Sorry, Ms. Yvette, please pull your top down a bit more, and I’ll massage the sides of your waist.”
