Brandon clenched his jaw and tried to yank his hand free, but Fraser’s grip was like a vise and wouldn’t budge.
Then Fraser yanked his arm, and Brandon staggered back several steps.
The Black bodyguard saw what happened and immediately lifted his gun, the barrel aimed straight at Fraser.
People nearby screamed and bolted in every direction. The dealer, Marilyn, went ghost white and collapsed on the floor, her legs giving out.
Mike rushed in front of Fraser and said, “Brandon, this is Havenbrook!”
Brandon leaned heavily on the poker table with both hands, his whole body tense and hunched. forward. His face twisted with rage, and his eyes were bloodshot as he glared at Fraser.
“I’ve already got nothing left. What the hell do I have to lose?”
Fraser didn’t even twitch. He just tipped his chin at Mike.
Mike understood and tossed over a phone. A video was playing on the screen.
A middle–aged woman and a seven–year–old boy were tied to a chair, both of them screaming for help.
Fraser gave a slow, icy grin. “Maybe they go down with you?”
Brandon’s pupils locked onto the screen, glued to his wife and son. His eyes were full of cold fury.
He gritted out, “Fraser. Let. Them. Go.”
Fraser narrowed his eyes, his gaze sharp and merciless, “Drop the guns. Every single one.”
A thick vein pulsed on Brandon’s forehead. After a tense beat, he lifted a hand and gave a quick
wave.
The bodyguard got the order and tossed the gun aside.
At Mike’s signal, the rest of the team quickly moved in and swept up the weapons from the floor.
At that exact moment, a team of cops who’d been waiting outside kicked the door open and charged in with their guns raised and aimed straight at Brandon.
Brandon’s face twisted with rage and madness as he let out a wild laugh.
“Fraser, you’re colder than I ever was. I should ve taken you and your old man with me when you were just a kid!”
As he spoke, he lunged under the poker table and yanked out one last gun. firing it in one smooth
motion.
Ra–ta–ta-ta–tat!
A storm of bullets tore through the banquet hall.
Screams erupted and panic exploded in the room.
The cops and Brandon’s bodyguards clashed in a brutal firefight
Mike threw himself in front of Fraser, shielding him as he pulled him back out of the casino’s VIP
Toom.
Right then, Fraser finally had a second to check his phone.
As soon as he read the message, the calm disappeared from his face. His whole expression tightened with urgency.
Damn it.
Fraser’s brow knotted and his voice came out fast and clipped. “Where’s the car?”
Mike didn’t hesitate. He handed him the keys. “Out front at the hotel entrance. The driver will take you-
Before he could finish, Fraser was already gone, a blur racing through the hallway.
At the hotel entrance..
Fraser jumped into his Ferrenza and fired up the engine. It let out a high–pitched roar before launching down the street like a rocket.
Meanwhile, Brandon had slipped away during the chaos. He spotted Fraser speeding off, and a cold, vicious glint flashed in his
eyes.
He climbed into a Ressug–Resemog parked by the curb and slammed the gas pedal down, taking
off after him.
Two top–tier sports cars ripped through the night, thunder rolling from their engines.
The Ressug–Resemog was right on the Ferrenza’s tail; a predator closing in for the kill.
Then-
A crash exploded through the dark, loud enough to shake the street.
Brandon had slammed full force into the Ferrenza’s back.
The hit was brutal; the rear of the Ferrenza and the nose of the Ressug–Resemog were crumpled, smoke pouring out from the damage.
Fraser’s body snapped forward from the impact. His brows locked tight as he checked the mirror.
This ends now.
He slammed the pedal down.
Brandon looked completely unhinged, his mouth twisted into a crazed smile that didn’t fade.
“Fraser, you wrecked my life! I’m not going alone!”
He stomped the gas again; the Ressug–Resemog shot forward like a wild animal.
Just before it could crash again-
Fraser’s eyes narrowed like blades. He gripped the wheel and jerked it sideways, sending the Ferrenza into a razor–sharp spin that curved out wide.
“Ah!”
Brandon couldn’t pull back in time. His car smashed head–on into the bridge railing; flames burst from under the hood right away.
Within minutes, police cruisers rolled in from every direction. They dragged Brandon out- bloodied, unconscious, wrecked–and locked him in cuffs.
Hospital.
Rushed footsteps cut through the heavy silence in the hallway.
Yvette and Xavier both looked up. Fraser had finally shown up–the one they’d been anxiously waiting for.
Fraser looked frantic. The vein at his temple was pulsing. His shirt and pants were a wrinkled mess; his chest rose and fell fast as he caught his breath. “Where’s Summer?”
