Summer’s letter continued:
I couldn’t even imagine what I would have become if you had ever stopped loving me.

You were probably reading this and thinking about yelling at me–What kind of crazy stuff was going through your head all day, huh?
And by the time you got to this part, I bet you were upset. You probably felt guilty.
So fine–your punishment was to treat me right for the rest of your life.
Fraser, I had something I wanted to tell you.
You didn’t need to say sorry this time.
This time, it was my turn to believe in you without question.
It was my turn to forgive you…

Fraser gripped her delicate hand in both of his, pressing it against his brow. Tears streamed out between his fingers without stopping.
While she slept, Summer felt a sudden warmth gathering in her palm.

Summer met his eyes with a gentle look and shook her head.
“Fraser, you were the one who gave me strength,” she said.
You were the reason I could be brave enough to bring our daughter into the world.
Fraser leaned in, lowered his head, and kissed her lips. It was a kiss unlike any he had given before–quiet, reverent, full of love.
A tear slipped from his face and landed softly on her lashes.
Summer blinked, her bright eyes glimmering. Slowly, a smile formed at the corners of her mouth–pure, content, and full of joy.
At the door, Julia and Yvette stood with the baby in their arms. The moment they saw what was happening inside, they both burst into tears.
