Chapter 4
I stood there, my body a hollow husk.
The world around me dissolved into a hazy.
Alpha Daniel loomed before me like a colossal.
His brows knitted together in a fearsome scowl.
“Who in the name of the moon do you think you’re fooling with that pitiable display of heartbreak? Be gone from my sight this instant! I will not have Sherry, my precious. mate–to–be, subjected to the stench of your wretchedness,”
With every ounce of my waning strength, I managed to drag my broken, battered body

back to what was once my cherished castle.
As I crossed the threshold, I was greeted by a scene of absolute, nightmarish chaos. My belongings, once carefully arranged now lay strewn about haphazardly.
A servant, emboldened by the new, cruel hierarchy that had taken root within the pack, stepped forward with a sneer
“Alpha Daniel has decreed that Sherry has claimed this castle as her own. You are to vacate immediately, scum,”
The steward sidled up to me with a leer.
“Well, well, Luna. It seems you’ve fallen from grace with a resounding thud. I suppose the garbage dump, that fetid, reeking pit, will have to serve as your new abode. It’s a fitting place for a disgraced, broken – spirited wolf

like you,“.
In an instant, the entire household of servants, their faces contorted with malicious glee, gathered around me like a pack of vultures circling a dying prey.
The sound of their mockery was like the howls of a pack of wild, blood – thirsty
wolves, echoing through the empty corridors of the castle.
The woodshed, my makeshift refuge in this cruel, unforgiving world, was a dilapidated, drafty hovel.
The frigid night air, thick with the earthy scent of the forest and the ever–present promise of danger, whistled through the gaps in the rotting, splintered wood.
As the moon, a pale, cold orb, reached its

zenith in the inky black sky, a searing, all- consuming fever took hold of me.
It burned through my weakened, emaciated body like a raging wildfire.
In my delirium, I was plunged into a nightmarish world filled with shadows and demons.
Suddenly, with a deafening crash, the door of the woodshed burst open.
Alpha Daniel stormed in.
He lunged at me with the speed and ferocity of a starving wolf pouncing on its prey. With a single, brutal motion, he hurled me to the ground as if I were a weightless feather.
“How dare you, you vile, wretched creature, curse Sherry! You will pay for this with your

life!“.
At my feet, a small, ornate box made of dark, polished wood rolled to a stop.
The box was inscribed with ancient, arcane symbols that seemed to pulse with a malevolent energy.
As it came to rest, a faint, greenish – black mist seeped from the cracks, carrying a noxious odor that stung my nostrils.
I knew immediately that this was a vessel of dark magic, a tool of curses.
Alpha Daniel, in his blind, irrational rage, had not even paused for a single moment to consider the evidence.
After unleashing his pent–up, volcanic fury, he stormed out, dragging a giggling,
