It was well past midnight when Alpha Daniel’s guard finally had me retrieved from the ice–cold cellar.
I was a pitiful sight, my body a ghastly shade of blue – purple from the extreme cold. The pack healer examined me with a solemn expression, his prognosis dire: the frigid air had penetrated deep into my legs, and I was doomed to a life of disability.
It was the third day that Sara promised me.
I was loaded into a carriage, and as soon as I laid eyes on my mother, whom I hadn’t seen in a decade, the dam of my emotions burst. I rushed into her embrace, my sobs echoing through the still night air.

After spending three days and nights in a wild frenzy with Sherry, Alpha Daniel at last remembered my existence.
He made a flimsy excuse to return to the mansion, only to be met with the news that I hadn’t set foot there.
His heart heavy with unease, he made his way to the palace and hastened.
Just as he was about to have a servant announce his arrival, he overheard an unexpected conversation.
Inside the room, Snow was speaking to Sherry.

had of holding onto Alpha Daniel, Snow sneered.
Sherry replied, her voice meek yet tinged with a hint of excitement. “Yes, Mistress Snow. And now, with her gone, you can finally claim your rightful place as Alpha Daniel’s Luna. He’s been so lost without you all these years.”
Snow let out a haughty laugh. “Of course he has. That fool Isabelle never stood a chance. I had him wrapped around my finger long before she came along. And now, with her out of the way, it’s only a matter of time before I’m back in his arms and ruling by his side.”

All this time, he had been played for a fool.
Suddenly, Snow’s voice grew louder, filled with venom.
“And to think that Isabelle actually believed she could keep Alpha Daniel. She was so naive. I mean, who does she think she is? A nobody who thought she could replace me. Well, she got what was coming to her. Losing her child was just the beginning. She’ll never be able to show her face around here again.”
Sherry chimed in, “Yes, Mistress. And now, you can finally have your revenge on her for daring to try and take what’s yours.”
Alpha Daniel’s blood boiled with rage.
He couldn’t listen to another word.

With a ferocious growl, he kicked open the door.
Snow and Sherry jumped in surprise, their eyes wide with fear as they saw Alpha Daniel standing in the doorway.
Snow stammered, “Alpha… Alpha Daniel. What are you doing here?”
Alpha Daniel advanced on them.
“You two conniving witches! What have you done?” he roared.
Snow tried to regain her composure. “Alpha Daniel, it’s not what you think. We were just… just talking.”
“Just talking?” Alpha Daniel snarled.

“I heard every word. You’ve been scheming against Isabelle, and you think you can just waltz back into my life and take over? Well, you’ve got another thing coming.” Sherry cowered behind Snow, her body trembling.
“Alpha Daniel, please. It was all Snow’s idea. I was just following her orders.” Snow shot Sherry a venomous look before turning back to Alpha Daniel.
“Alpha Daniel, listen to me. You know you’ve always loved me. Isabelle was just a temporary distraction arranged by your mom. Now that she’s gone, we can finally be together, just like we were meant to be.”
Alpha Daniel let out a bitter laugh.
“Isabelle may be gone, but she was a thousand times the woman you’ll ever be. And you,” he said, turning his glare on Sherry,
