Chapter 3
Ah, so my son and Lena had called my mother–in–law over!
“You heartless bastards, dare to touch my son? I’ll sue you for murder!”
My mother–in–law, a plump figure, rushed over like a little steel ball, shoving the doctors aside.
“Oh my poor son! You are so miserable! You lost your life, and now your wife is trying to take advantage of you!”
“Everyone, look! Our family’s misfortune! She can’t even take care of her husband, and now she’s scheming against my son! She’s the one who killed him!”

“They must have colluded with the hospital to sell my son’s organs! You’re murderers! Murderers!”
My mother–in–law’s spit flew everywhere, and the doctors and nurses hurriedly moved aside.
My son, standing at the front, didn’t manage to avoid it in time and got a face full of saliva, his expression twisted in disgust, though he didn’t dare to say a word about the foul smell.
As for me, I’d already moved to the back, thankfully escaping the splatter.
By now, a crowd had gathered, everyone craning their necks to watch.
“I could tell from her face she’s not a good person. Husband just died, and she’s already

talking about organ donation–there’s definitely someone else involved.”
“If I die and my wife dares to donate my body, even as a ghost I wouldn’t let her off!”
“I tell you, this hospital must be getting paid off, just waiting for people to die so they can harvest organs. I’ve seen it all over the internet.”
The nurse.

slander the hospital so blatantly, were getting anxious.
“Ma’am, please speak properly. You’re spreading rumors.”
“Yeah, Mom! Nick Herty is already dead. How can you say we’re murderers? Can the dead die twice?”

Faced with my questions, my mother–in–law hesitated, fumbling for words.
“I think… he was just too controlled by you, couldn’t take it anymore, so he drank himself to death.”
“You’re the one who monitors how many times he
7.es to the bathroom in a day.”
“Even after we finished, he had to report back to you about the number of times.”
This time, even Lena took a step back, looking completely stunned.
Nearby patients whispered in hushed tones.
“Is this his mother? Is she treating herself like the first wife and the daughter–in–law like a mistress?”

“She really has no sense of boundaries. Mommy’s boy, huh? How does she even live like this? This girl must be incredibly tolerant.”
Ha, just throwing the blame on me, right? Not going to work.
In my past life, they did the exact same thing -bit by bit, pushing all the blame onto me, manipulating me into thinking it was all my fault.
So I worked myself to the bone every day, living in constant guilt, feeling I was failing my son and my husband, serving them like a beast of burden. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, they were living lives of luxury, indulging in riches.

better might think they were the real family.
My mother–in–law, furious at my accusations, pointed at me while stomping her foot. “Back off! Back off! BACK OFF!”
“Today, no one is taking my son away! I’m taking him home.”
I sneered inwardly at my mother–in–law’s ignorance. According to hospital regulations, anyone who dies in the hospital cannot simply be taken away by family. A death certificate must first be issued, and only after that can the family decide whether to donate the body or proceed with cremation.
The death certificate? Lena had already taken care of that.
As for the next step in the process–well, that was obvious.

Sure enough, the nurse shot my mother–in–law an exasperated look.
“The deceased cannot be taken away. You’d better contact the funeral home
immediately.“”
“Funeral… funeral home?”
My mother–in–law hadn’t expected the situation to escalate so quickly. She hurriedly grabbed my son, trying to figure out a way out of this.
They had originally planned to stage a little show for me, using the hospital and Lena’s position as a doctor to deceive me. But my persistence had forced them to involve other doctors.
I saw my son and mother–in–law blocking

my path. If this continued, there was no way I could proceed with the organ donation on my own–it would be useless.
A sudden thought flashed through my mind. I had a brilliant idea!
