Chapter 4
“Since my mother–in–law and son both believe my husband’s death is suspicious, doctors, for the sake of my family’s peace of mind and the hospital’s reputation, I request an autopsy!”
“The cause of death is clear, there’s no need for an autopsy. Sister–in–law, stop causing trouble.”
Lena blocked me, and my mother–in–law joined in, rebutting me.
“My son is dead, and you still won’t let it go? Are you determined to tear this family apart? We can’t have an autopsy on my son -our village’s custom is to live and depart in peace, fully and properly!”

I smirked coldly. “The ones causing a fuss. over Nick Herty’s death are you. Now I’m requesting an autopsy,
I yet you refuse! What’s going on here? Are you planning to extort the hospital?”
The crowd around us was growing, murmurs spreading.
I continued, “My family disagrees, and even you, Dr. Lena, won’t agree. How strange!
Are y
feeling guilty? Are you afraid you
misdiagnosed him?”
“Ridiculous! How could I have misdiagnosed him? My medical skills are beyond your ignorant questioning!” Lena snapped back urgently.
My son frowned impatiently, “Mom! Just let Dad rest in peace, stop making a scene!”

By now, I had slowly moved closer to Nickk Herty’s “corpse.”
I deliberately hammered a heavy fist onto his groin, shouting, “Enough!”
“Ah!”
The moment he groaned, Nick Herty realized something was wrong and quickly silenced himself.
But that single sound was enough to draw everyone’s attention.
He had broken character–I felt a rush of triumph.
Finally, the truth was unraveling!
Seizing the moment, I yanked the white cloth from his body, revealing his contorted face

pretense, my son and mother–in–law were filled with rage. Their plan had failed, and now they could only plot another way next time.
Only Lena stood there, her face ashen and drenched in cold sweat.
Seizing the opportunity, I reported her.
“How can your hospital operate like this? My husband is clearly alive, and yet you’ve
already prepared his death certificate? You
nearly had me donate my husband’s body!”
“I demand a full investigation! A thorough one!”
As a result, Lena was dismissed for her unethical conduct in issuing Nick Herty’s death certificate. The hospital director had no choice but to fire her, and once the

industry learned of her lack of medical integrity, no one would hire her.
So, she was left with no choice but to stay home for the time being.
I also knew that Lena had long since lost her desire to work. She had planned to finish that one final job and then live the good life with Nick Herty.
But I
tood it well.
She was at home, yet always with my husband.
And I didn’t care.
Because my plan for revenge was only halfway through. Let them indulge in their deceitful little affair. It worked perfectly for me!
