Chapter 10
“I’m sorry, honey. I was blind, but I still love you. I can’t pay the money now. They’re going to beat me to death. You’re my wife- please help me pay some of it.”
It was then that I learned from Nick Herty that Lena had intended to sell the luxury items and move somewhere else. However, while she was packing, her mother–in–law found out and seized everything. They tried to sell the items, but unfortunately, luxury goods lose their value the moment they’re
sold, and it wasn’t nearly enough to pay off the debt.
Lena had already lost her job, and now she was out of money. That night, she took every cent Nick Herty had left and disappeared.

Now, Nick Herty had come to me, desperate for money. I could only shake my head at his audacity.
“Sir, please don’t address me like that. I am no one’s wife anymore. Call me Miss Virginia” I said coldly.
Nick Herty cried, tears streaming down his face. “I know I was wrong. If you don’t help me, they’re going to kill me!”
“Then go die. They won’t come after a dead man for money,” I responded nonchalantly.
“Or you can just fake your death. You already have experience with that, don’t you?”
The words I had once heard from him now cut into him like a sharp blade.
I was already thinking about how to escape

Nick Herty scrambled to his feet, shouting in desperation, “She’s my ex–wife! She has money, she’ll help me pay! Go after her!”
The thugs the creditors had brought

They then dragged Nick Herty into an alley, and soon his screams echoed in the night.

Nick Herty or his family.
That was until I heard something on the
news.
During another round of debt collection, Nick Herty had an emotional breakdown and

suffered a stroke–just as he had predicted for himself.
It wasn’t surprising to me. Long before the divorce, Nick Herty had shown signs of a stroke, and I had known that one day, he’d die from it.
So, I had bought an insurance policy for him, with me as the beneficiary. Just like my son had done to me in a past life.
After Nick Herty’s death, my mother–in–law worked tirelessly to pay off his debts, and my son dropped out of school to take up a job. He completely lost his chance to attend a prestigious university, just like in the previous life.
I finally freed myself from their burdens, no longer needing to work as hard as I had in my past life.

With the money from selling the house and the insurance payout, I pampered myself- daily beauty treatments, fitness routines, and a new villa by the beach.
On a whim, I shared my journey on Instagram, encouraging women to rid themselves of the weight of toxic relationships and live for themselves.
Brave souls should enjoy the world first.
To my surprise, my Instagram account went viral, and many women followed my lead, reinventing themselves.
And with that, I earned even more money.
Now, I lay on the beach, soaking up the sun, surrounded by a group of young, muscular men I had just met.

“You took my place,” Alice spat, “Now your wealth is ours.”
Though I was still alive, Alice ordered Nill to bury me deeper. They didn’t care if I lived or died.
As my consciousness faded and a white light appeared, I vowed that if I survived, I would get revenge.
