I thought to myself, it was most likely a message for Karena.
Karena, that woman, had climbed to the top using unscrupulous methods. She feared others would do the same, so she had probably planted her spies around Gavin.
One way or another, Karena would surely learn about my visit to Gavin today.
That was my purpose for coming here–to let Karena know that Gavin had someone else!
I knocked on Gavin’s office door, carrying the thermos.

I put on a bright smile. “Mr. Chambers, long time no see! I’m on my way to deliver some food to my mother’s company. She’s been having some stomach issues, and I’m really worried, so I decided to cook for her myself. Since I’m passing by, I thought I’d make an extra portion for you to try.”
As I spoke, I opened the thermos.
“Come on, try my cooking.”
Gavin looked surprised. “You can cook?”

I flashed him a bright smile and said nothing.
I purposely leaned forward slightly, subtly closing the distance between us. My long, slender legs naturally crossed, and I gazed at him with a look full of affection.
Men are visual creatures!
So I intentionally released my charm, drawing Gavin in.

Knock, knock, knock!
The rapid sound of a knock interrupted Gavin.
He instantly became impatient. “Who is it?”
“It’s me, Karena! Open the door!”
I quickly pushed Gavin aside, brushing a rebellious strand of hair behind my ear. “Your wife’s here, so this secret lover of yours better not be seen! I’ll take my leave!”

I stood quietly by the door, watching as Karena stormed in, going crazy at Gavin.
“Where’s that mistress? Where have you hidden her?”
“What mistress?” Gavin snapped, arms crossed. “Karena, stop being paranoid all the time! If you’ve got a problem, go see a doctor! I’m not one, and I’m not giving you any prescriptions!”

I hid behind the door, watching as the atmosphere became increasingly tense. I smirked coldly, taking out my phone and sending Gavin a text.
