Before the food even arrived, Bruna had already drunk two bottles of beer on an empty stomach and was quite tipsy.
After a long silence, Bruna finally spoke:
“I come from a single–parent family. My parents divorced when I was young. My mom raised me by herself, and it hasn’t been easy for her.
“She works at Arden Enterprises, and at the company’s annual meeting, the chairman mentioned that Ceyda and I were in the same dorm, and that we were alumni with the Arden brothers. He specifically asked my mom to bring me along to the company event.”

“Did Leo bully you at the annual meeting?

“At the annual meeting, Leo kept getting close to me, trying to win my favor.
“After the event, my mom’s colleagues started talking about how she was trying to ake connections with the Arden family.
“Then, out of the blue, my mom was promoted.

Bruna looked confused and replied:
“I did, but she didn’t believe me.
“She said that even if it’s true, as long as I try
hard, I can win Leo’s heart over time.
“Plus, since Ceyda can’t have children, the child I bear will be the only heir to the Arden fortune.
“The Arden assets are worth over a hundred billion.”
Suddenly, I understood.
