Chapter 6
The next day, the three of us were still hungover when Ceyda came back to the dorm early in the morning and woke Bruna
- up.
“Bruna, Leo has called several times, and you didn’t pick up. He’s downstairs waiting for you with a bouquet of red roses! Looks like he’s going to confess to you in public.”
–
I was instantly jolted awake – the familiar scene of a public confession was happening again. This time, however, the target was Bruna.
Bruna stood there, dazed, for quite some time while Ceyda urged her to get up, get ready, and go downstairs to accept Leo’s confession.

Bruna remained unresponsive.
After a long pause, she finally made up her mind. She got ready, went downstairs, and accepted Leo’s red roses.
Sally and I watched her from upstairs, feeling mixed emotions.
Ceyda also went downstairs, and she, Leo, Bruna, and Key went on a date together.
I suddenly realized in my past life, these three had caused my death and took away my children. Why had I never thought of seeking revenge after being reborn?
I was angry, but even more, I was afraid, timid, and felt inadequate. Yet, the situation was different now.

We might have a chance to face Ceyda.
Leo and Bruna’s romance followed the same old pattern: accompanying her to the library, eating in the cafeteria, attending classes together, and celebrating her birthday with drones…
Meanwhile, Sally and I were secretly collecting every little detail about Ceyda, trying to find more leverage to increase our chances of winning.
And we found some.
Ceyda was approached by a middle–aged man covered in tattoos.
When Ceyda saw him, her face turned pale with fear, but she didn’t alert anyone and instead dragged the man into the sports equipment room.

Sally and I followed them into a secluded
corner.
The tattooed man had a vicious look on his face, like a thug:
“Stepdaughter, do you remember your uncle?
“I heard you’re dating the heir of Arden and plan to marry into a rich family once you graduate. If it weren’t for your uncle paving the way for you, how would you have this great opportunity to rise up and become a phoenix?
“Back then, your father and I made the car accident of Arden brothers, and I ended up serving 12 years in prison because of it. I just got out. Your father now has bodyguards and a high status, so I can’t get close to him, so I came to find you.

“I don’t want much. 12 years in prison, 1 million a year, that’s 12 million in total. This should be small change for you, right?”
Ceyda didn’t seem concerned:
“I’ll have my father contact you. But, Uncle, you made a mistake back then. The accident caused me to be unable to have children for the rest of my life. How are we going to settle that?”
The two of them kept arguing.
Sally subtly shook her phone, signaling to me that she had recorded the whole conversation.
We quietly withdrew.
It hit me like a ton of bricks – the case that

tied us together was orchestrated by Ban! If Arden found out the truth, I couldn’t imagine what their reaction would be…
“I’m still lacking bargaining chips to negotiate with Arden” I said, looking at Sally with unspoken understanding.
“Children?” I asked.
y nodded.
