Clara glanced at Wesley, who had turned his head away in anger, refusing to look at her. Her voice was cold as she said, “Alright, I’ll send you the divorce papers in a couple of days. Wesley will stay with you, and I won’t interfere anymore.”
Wesley froze for a moment. Although he didn’t fully understand what Clara meant, he vaguely sensed that his mom didn’t want him anymore.
Panic flashed through his heart. His small hand instinctively tightened around the edge of Francis‘ sleeve as he looked up at him, his eyes filled with unease.
Francis was also momentarily stunned. This was already the third time Clara had brought up divorce.
His brows furrowed, displeased that Clara was using divorce as a threat against him.
“Clara, I advise you to know your limits. If we really get divorced, don’t regret giving up your chance to return to the Pierce family.”
“That’s right, Mommy. Ms. Dawson is so nice. Daddy and I both like her. If you don’t, maybe you. should reflect on yourself instead of always blaming Daddy. Mommy, why are you so unreasonable?”
Encouraged by Francis‘ words, Wesley, thinking Clara was only trying to threaten them, began to criticize her as well.

“If you and your daddy like her so much, then why are you still calling Clara ‘Mommy? Just go call Natalie your mom instead,” Zoe sneered, unable to tolerate the father and son ganging up on Clara.
Then, she turned to Francis, her lips curling into a mocking smile. “In the end, Mr. Pierce, you’re just good at betraying. No wonder Clara was blind for so many years. It took her this long to finally wipe the gunk out of her eyes.”
Clara had never suffered such humiliation in her life, yet now, she was being bullied by this father. and son pair.
The more Zoe thought about it, the angrier she became. Her gaze toward Francis darkened with the urge to kill him.
It’s all his fault. Not only does he mistreat Clara, but he’s also raising his son to do the same, breaking her heart. If I ever get the chance, I won’t let him off.
At first, Francis didn’t understand what Zoe meant. When he finally did, his face darkened instantly.
Wesley didn’t fully grasp Zoe’s words either, but seeing Francis‘ expression turn grim, he knew she was insulting his dad.

No one had expected Wesley to act so aggressively. In their shock, everyone instinctively reached. out, trying to grab Zoe before she fell off the platform.
The closest person to her, Clara, widened her eyes in alarm. Before her brain could fully process the situation, her hand shot out, grabbing Zoe and yanking her back with all her strength, narrowly preventing a serious accident.
Clara looked at Zoe apologetically. Seeing that she was only shaken and not hurt, she finally let jout a slow breath of relief.
Slap!
Just as everyone was calming down from the near–miss, a crisp slap echoed through the air.
“Wesley, who taught you to be so vicious? Where did your manners go? Apologize right now!”

than before. Clearly, she had been deeply shaken.
Wesley was only five, but he had pushed Zoe with all his strength. Given his size, if Clara hadn’t reacted in time, she didn’t dare imagine how badly Zoe might have been injured from the fall.
Francis hadn’t expected Clara to slap him. He immediately grabbed her wrist, his expression furious. “Clara, you’ve gone too far! Wesley is just a child. He doesn’t know his own strength! Did you really have to hit him?”
Wesley was stunned for a moment. The sting on his face gradually registered, and only then did he react that his mom had hit him.
Just because he pushed that old witch, she actually hit him.
Tears welled up in his eyes, but he stubbornly held them back.
“I won’t apologize to that old witch! Never!” he declared defiantly.
Clara’s heart ached at his pitiful expression, but when she recalled what had just happened, she steeled herself. Turning to Francis, she said coldly, “Francis, is this the child you raised? Insulting his elders, hurting people, completely lacking in manners? You don’t deserve to be a father. I’m truly disappointed in you.”
Francis lowered his head in shame. When Clara was still around, Wesley had never acted like this. In just a month, he had developed such terrible habits. It was his negligence, no doubt about it. But he was busy. He had work and had been searching for her.
Besides, taking care of Wesley had always been Clara’s responsibility. He had never interfered. If
