Chapter 9

Xandros‘ P.O.V.
I wish I could erase my own memory, I wish I could unsee what I just saw my Father do to Alena. But I was too stunned to turn my laptop off.
I looked back at the recordings and I have to give it my all to restrain my Wolf from acting on his rage.
I listened to the conversation he had with Alpha Roger and even though it was horrific to listen to, I am glad they had a videocall because now I had heard both sides of the conversation.
I need to find a way to warn Taliyah and keep her safe.
Taliyah’s P.O.V.
I am sitting at the kitchen counter with a notebook in front of me. I have to plan three dinners, two breakfasts and two lunches.
Breakfast is easy, it will be in buffet–style and that means I can make an elaborate lunch and dinner. But I know that Alena will question everything I come up with.
She will make ridiculous demands on dinner and I will have to fight her every step of the way. It is the same every time we have visitors and I am getting sick and tired of it.
Ivory and I discuss what to do if she acts up again and we decide it is time that she finds out that I am not going to take any of her bullshit any longer.
As I close my notebook, I see a small corner of paper sticking out. For a moment I think I have pulled a page crooked, but as I find it I see it is a loose piece of paper.
Your Father wants to hand you over to Alpha Roger.
He will forcefully mark you.
Run
My jaw drops as I read the lines on the note.
I suddenly understand Alena’s smile as she told me that Alpha Roger was coming to visit and then I remember her comment that he would not be without a Mate for long.
I see red and Ivory pushes forward, the chair flies against the wall as I jump off it. I sniff the air and head in the direction of my Step–mother.
She is going to answer my questions, one way or the other.
Xandros‘ POV.
With all the Omega’s around it is easy for me to get her notebook and put the note in it. Now all I have to do now is wait and make sure she makes it across our borders.
I keep an eye on her as she is planning her menu for the weekend. I see her starting to close the notebook, but then she opens it again to find the note I left for her.
She scares the shit out of the Omega’s as she pushes the chair against the wall and for a second I wonder if she is hiding something. But I don’t have much time as I see her barging out of the kitchen.
I follow her, keeping my distance and making sure she can’t see me. She is walking fast and the way she holds herself, I wonder if she might have fooled our Father on her eighteenth birthday.
My Sister is considered Wolfless as she didn’t shift when she became of age. We don’t know much about our Mother, so Father just assumed there was a Human ancestor in her bloodline.

Hur watching her, I stall in question a few things I have seen over the years.

i hear *reaming and I speed up, because I need to see what is going on. Taliyah is holding Alena by her throat and is yelling in her face- Ayden’s eyes are glazed over and more Pack–members gather as he tells the Warriors to grab Taliyah.
Have you lost your mind? You dare attack your Luna? Alena yells as Taliyah is being held by two Warriors. Ayden stands next in Alena, whispering something in to her car.
she looks around her and I see a devious look in her eyes as she turns her attention back to Taliyah. “I am charging you with assault on a High ranking Woll and attas king your Luna”
The Pack members all raise their hand in support of the charges and for a second I want to object, but my Wolf points out that this is a good way for Taliyah to get away from Alpha Roger.
He chuckles in my head as he says “Your Father is going to take Alena’s head for that one,” And I know that he is right, Father will be furious when he finds out that the Pack convicted her and that Alena is to blame.
I pull out my phone and search it, until I have found the number for the Council. After I am finished, I walk over to Alena and Ayden and tell them that the Council is sending Delta’s over to pick her up.
Alena orders the Warriors to bring her up to her room and to stand guard at her door.
Taliyah’s POV
As soon as I see Alena, Ivory pushes forward and the next thing I know Alena charges me with assault and attacking her and I am convicted by the Pack.
I noticed that Xandros did not raise his hand and for a moment I thought he might come to my rescue. In his eyes I see all sorts of emotions and for a split second I see relief.
I don’t understand it, but Ivory points out that it is our ticket out of here and if the note is true then Alena is in huge trouble with my Father.
We both chuckle, Ivory asks if it could have been Xandros that put the note there and I have to agree with her, it would explain why he seems relieved.
The Warriors walk me to my room and the door gets locked from the outside. I start packing the things I want to take with me and Laska Warrior to go to the kitchen to ask an Omega to give him a small box from the kitchen.
The Warrior walks in with the box and asks me to open it so he can see what is in there. I do as he requests and after he goes through the contents, he nods his head before locking me in again.
Quickly I pull the note out of my pocket and put in in the box, I know they won’t search it again.
