The castle looms large behind me, its size a reminder of how difficult it will be to escape. But I’m determined.
I’ve managed to get past the minor guards so far, and now I’ve walked a fair distance from the castle.

The sound of the stone hitting the windshield is loud, and the glass cracks on impact. Almost immediately, the car’s security alarm blares, loud and disturbing.

1 spring from my hiding spot and dash toward the gate, running past the car’s entrance without looking back. My heart thunders in my chest, but I don’t stop. Even if someone sees me, I can’t risk hesitating.
Before I know it, I’m outside Alpha Deckard’s castle. I made it. I can’t believe I actually made it!
But there’s no time to celebrate. The road ahead is straight and open, leaving me exposed. I begin walking as fast as I can, eager to put as much distance as possible between me and the castle. I need to get off the straight road before anyone comes looking for me.
