Chapter 12 The Son with Autism
Finished
Rebecca gazed down at the small boy by her knees, dressed in a child–sized black suit, with his hair neatly parted to the side. His delicate, doll–like face and porcelain skin made him stunningly handsome.
“Oh my!”
“Marcus!” Her son!
Over the years, Rebecca often thought of the son she had abandoned, catching only sparse updates through news or newspapers. Now, here he stood before her, as surreal as a dream! Is this a blessing in disguise?
Meanwhile, Nathan and Caleb were equally shocked.
Since Marcus was born, he had never spoken a word, leading everyone to believe he was congenitally mute. Due to his status, this information had been tightly concealed.
And now he had spoken! He wasn’t mute!
Nathan’s dark eyes churned with emotion, and Caleb was overwhelmed with excitement, running over, “Marcus, me to the treatment room for a check–up!”
Marcus shook his head in resistance, clutching Rebecca’s hands, looking up at her with big, pleading eyes.
..come with
Rebecca was unexpectedly charmed by her own son, her heart surging as she knelt down and cradled his face, studying every feature closely.
“This is my son, my own flesh and blood,” she thought, her voice thick with joy and her eyes moist. “Marcus, you’re so adorable, too adorable. Do you like me?”
Marcus nodded without hesitation.
Nathan, feeling ignored, his handsome face grew colder. “Who does this kid think his real father is?”
Not wanting Marcus involved with the disreputable Rebecca, he spoke firmly. “She’s not your mother, and she can’t stay. Come here. Don’t make me say it a third time.” This was a father’s indulgence, already a stretch.
His tone was commanding.
Marcus had a long fact, and he walked over, disheartened.
Just as Nathan thought he was complying. Marcus suddenly hugged his leg and bit down hard.
“Uh.” A muffled grunt escaped Nathan’s lips.
“Nathan!”
“Marcus!”
Caleb and Rebecca’s faces turned pale as they rushed to help.
But Marcus cling tightly to Nathan, biting harder and harder, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, seemingly lost to a frenzy.
The situation was spiraling out of control.
Nathan’s eyebrows knitted together, his expression dark and foreboding.
Marcus had a condition; whenever he encountered something upsetting, he would go into a rampage, inconsolable, and at times, self–harming.

And now, because of Rebecca.
“Nathan, just agree to it!” Caleb urged, aware of the dire consequences.
Nathan glanced at Rebecca, then back at his son caught in a frenzy, and finally said coldly.
“I agree for her to stay.”
With those words, Marcus finally loosened his grip, though he did not let go completely.
Nathan’s sharp gaze turned to Rebecca, commanding. “Tell him you’ll stay.”
What? What is this?

Caleb explained urgently to Rebecca, “Marcus has autism. He gets episodes when agitated, and he’s currently undergoing treatment. We can’t risk undoing his progress.”
What? Marcus has autism? Rebecca was in disbelief, but knowing the severity of the situation, she hurriedly said, “Marcus, sweetie, stop biting. I’ll stay.”
Upon hearing this, Marcus finally released Nathan..
Nathan coldly dropped a “Wait here,” then carried Marcus back to their room.
Caleb also grabbed the medical kit and hurried after them.
Rebecca stood alone, struggling to accept that Marcus had autism.
Is fate playing a cruel joke on me?
