Chapter 21 The Towel Falls
At Sena International, since the accident, Marcus had been so traumatized that he hadn’t spoken all night, staying by Rebecca’s side, refusing to leave her. It was only after Caleb insisted repeatedly, swearing that Rebecca was alright, that Marcus agreed to go back to the room with Nathan
Nathan took him back to their room to bathe and coax him to sleep, Once Marcus was asleep, the house quieted down, but Nathan’s own heart couldn’t find peace.
The first time he met Rebecca, she had called him blind and rude. The second time, she was in the arms of an older man, seemingly without self–respect. The third time, she entered the villa again, posing as Jocelyn.
In his mind, she was of poor character and morality, always scheming.
But today, when the accident happened, he saw her leap forward without hesitation to protect Marcus, keeping him safe in her arms. If not for her, Marcus might not have come out of it unscathed. Afterwards, she didn’t even consider her own safety, worrying about Marcus first.
Her actions were brave, decisive, resolute–placing Marcus first, seemingly not the calculating type but a simple, exceptionally kind girl. Could I have misunderstood her?
A sudden ringtone broke his train of thought.
Worried about waking Marcus, Nathan pulled out his phone, only to realize it was Rebecca’s phone, which he had been keeping temporarily after her fall.
The caller ID on the large screen shockingly read, “Darling Baby,”
Is this a man’s nickname? So intimate? So cheesy!
Nathan’s eyebrows knit together, and he stared at the screen for a full three seconds before he muted it and, carrying the phone, quietly headed to Rebecca’s room across the hall.
Rebecca, her arm in a cast, was currently showering in the bathroom. Hearing the knock, she furrowed her brows.
Who could it be at this late hour? Could it be Marcus, still worried about me, coming to keep my company?
She quickly grabbed a towel, wrapping it around herself, and ran to the door.
Click–the door opened.
Unexpectedly, it was Nathan standing there, as aloof and distinguished as ever, his presence almost divine, radiating an
inherent aura.
He spoke emotionlessly, “A man called you.”
Curious and puzzled, Rebecca took the phone, checked the call log, and then realized it was Emma’s call. He had misunderstood.
Thankfully it was a misunderstanding! Otherwise, if he knew about Emma, it would be over!
Thank, thank you. It’s late, you should go back and rest,” Rebecca said, a hint of guilt in her voice as she awkwardly covered her phone.
Nathan’s eyebrows twisted.
Just like that? No explanation? Was it really a man’s call! And her urging me to leave, did she just want me out of the teay so she could continue Ker chart

With a cold sneer, he turned to leave. Rebecca also intended to close the door quickly to return Emma’s call.
But because she moved too abruptly and her towel, already loosely tied due to her injured arm, suddenly unraveled.
“Whoosh!” The towel fell to the ground.
Caught completely off guard, she stood there, exposed under the bright light.
Hearing the sound, Nathan instinctively turned back, and then he saw-
Under the light, the graceful young body of the girl.
