Chapter 23 Her Figure Is Too Striking
That just wouldn’t do!
Rebecca wanted to refuse, but Nathan spoke calmly and decisively, “Sebastian specifically requested you, there must be a reason for it. He’s not easily fooled, and your injuries are healing well,”
Mike chimed in. “Right, I almost forgot about the injury, that was a close call! Ms. Rebecca, let’s go. I’ll take you to your room to find a dress suitable for the future Mrs. Zimmerman
Before Rebecca could even think about declining, they had arranged everything swiftly.
She looked helplessly at Marcus, hoping for some advice, but the little guy just said, “Good luck, I believe in you. I’ll wait for you at home.”
Rebecca was stunned. Is this child really mine!
Despite her reluctance, she ended up wearing Jocelyn’s dress, forced into the role.
When she got into the car in Jocelyn’s dress, Nathan’s usually composed and detached gaze fluctuated. The elegant and proper dress, tailored for a socialite, clung to her curves perfectly, the deep V–neck design adding an unintended allure. Clearly, her figure was more voluptuous than Jocelyn’s.
He pressed his lips together, looking away and opening the car window to view the passing landscape.
Trying to calm his mind, and breathe.
Sitting beside him, Rebecca felt extremely awkward. This is Jocelyn’s dress, and sitting next to Nathan, how could I be happy? It all just felt wrong.
Two hours later, they finally arrived at the vineyard.
It was a scenic wine estate with clear air and beautiful views. Rebecca immediately pushed open the car door, hoping for a quick resolution to their visit.
Unexpectedly, a polite assistant was waiting. Upon seeing them, he smiled and said, “Mr. Zimmerman, Mrs. Zimmerman, you’ve arrived. Our boss has been expecting you.”
Rebecca followed his gaze to the front and saw Mr. Sebastian in the vineyard.
He was sitting under a pavilion, clad in a white shirt and casual trousers, idly swirling a wine bottle, the sunlight filtering through the wine and casting beautiful hues on his fair, slender hands.
He looked refined and gentlemanly.
It was Maverick! How could this be? Hadn’t he gone abroad to study? Why was he here now, going by Sebastian? Rebecca was shocked.
As they approached, Sebastian put down his wine and stood up gracefully, “Mr. Zimmerman, Mrs. Zimmerman, a pleasure to meet you. I hope it’s not too soon to call you Mrs. Zimmerman?”
His m His manners were impeccable.
Nathan responded with a faint smile. He and Jocelyn hadn’t planned any marriage, but standing there with Rebecca, he strangely didn’t mind, “Not at all:
Rebecca, however, felt awkward. She was standing in for Jocelyn, and being addressed as Nathan’s wife. She felt odd.
And what was more disturbing, why did Sebastian call her Mrs. Zimmermant Did he see me as a stranger too? Could it be that this teas’t Maverick but someone who just resembled him?

Nathan couldn’t figure out his angle,
“Mr. Sebastian seems quite interested in my personal affairs. Is there something you would advise!”
His tone was neither heavy nor light, seemingly casual but compelling a response.

Sebastian chuckled. “Mr. Zimmerman jests. Frankly, I’ve heard that Mrs. Zimmerman is quite calculating and devoid of affection, and that your relationship is akin to a facade. I always value genuine relationships and dislike any pretense, especially in marriage, hence I had not considered partnering with Zimmerman Corp. However, after seeing the news yesterday. I was impressed by Mrs. Zimmerman’s actions and wanted to see for myself if the rumors were true. I presume, Mr. Zimmerman, you also prefer not to cooperate with those who are insincere?”
I that his angle? Nathan was surprised; he was decisive in business and never mixed personal feelings. Sebastian, on the other hand, prioritized emotions.
“If Mr. Sebastian’s way of handling things is different from mine, perhaps our cooperation could offer a new experience. Also, my wife and I are on very good terms right now.”
As he spoke, he reached out and drew Rebecca closer by the waist, pulling her next to him.
This sudden gesture caught Rebecca off guard.
The scent of him, fresh and clean like sunshine after rain on bamboo, filled her nostrils, and his hand, warm at her waist, made her heart flutter and her breathing quicken.
They were supposed to be acting, but he wasn’t supposed to hold her!
And yet, she couldn’t push him away. Sebastian, observing their intimate gesture, smiled leisurely,
“It’s fortunate to see Mr. Zimmerman, being so affectionate with his wife. If you don’t mind, join me in tasting some wine I’ve brewed myself and give me your thoughts?”
His words implied acceptance and continued interaction
Nathan, knowledgeable about wines, replied with a refined air. “That would be agreeable.”
He kept his arm around Rebecca as they walked to the winery, his demeanor elegant and talkative. Rebecca, however, felt anything but natural
Walking next to Nathan, his touch through the fabric felt like electricity coursing through her veins. Besides that night years ago, she had never been this close to any man.
She felt so uneasy she wanted to move away.
Nathan, noting her movements, lowered his gaze and saw her blush. His voice lowered, just loud enough for the two of them. “We’re just acting why are you blushing?”
His words, so close, his breath warm around her ear, made her more flustered and embarrassed, Tm not used to it. You think everyone is like you, used to holding women, indifferent to whom it is. Hmph!
She pulled away from his grasp and walked ahead.
Nathan’s eyes narrowed, her words making him sound indiscriminate and her virtuous. Is she sure she doesn’t get it backward?
Due to bring at the winery, dinner naturally involved drinking-
Keberra, who had never drunk alcohol, found herself obliged to drink due to the generous hosting One glass and she was Floriously druni
Seeing her slump on the table, her cheeks flushed, Nathan’s eyebrows knitted together. Oh my was her alcohol tolerance really so

Nathan, always aloof and disdainful of unnecessary contact with unrelated women, especially someone with a dubious reputation like Rebeccal
He ran over, “Mr. Nathan, let me carry her!
“It’s fine.” Nathan said indifferently, placing Rebecca in the car before settling himself, “Back to the villa
Mike was puzzled.
Nathan’s actions were so natural? Is this the same reserved and distant Nathan? It seemed he was different towards Rebecca.
Though not daring to say more, Mike respectfully drove off
The road from the estate was rough and rocky, the car jolting repeatedly. Nathan was accustomed to various terrains from his inspections, including mountain roads.
But the inebriated Rebecca had no support. As the car jostled, she tumbled, falling directly into Nathan’s arms,
