The rising tone at the end, the suggestive posture–it all carried a hint of danger and flirtation.
And the word “business,” coming from his mouth, had clearly taken on a different meaning.
Rebecca flushed in embarrassment. Being pinned like this made her feel incredibly awkward. “Let go of me. That’s not what I
meant.”
A cold smirk lingered in Nathan’s eyes. He raised his hand, and with his long fingers, tilted her chin up. “If it’s not what you meant, then don’t throw words like that around. And don’t challenge my authority”
They were standing so close. His cool, dangerous aura invaded her entire space–cold and tingly against her skin.
Rebecca felt even more uncomfortable, and there was a tight, flushed feeling building inside her.
Authority? Is he sure it’s authority and not… something scummy!
Shameless.
“Daddy, Ms. Rebecca, are you playing Jenga?” a child’s voice chimed in at that moment.
Rebecca looked over and saw Marcus standing at the kitchen door with an adorably confused face. Her checks immediately turned even redder!
She didn’t know where the strength came from, but she suddenly pushed Nathan away and awkwardly explained, “No. something just happened–we accidentally bumped into each other.”
Marcus was just a kid and believed it with childlike innocence. “Oh, I finished washing the dishes!”
“Good boy,” Rebecca walked over, picked him up, and pinched his cheek. “Let me walk you guys downstairs. I’ll come play double tomorrow to make up for not being here.”
Marcus was reluctant, but he had a rare condition from birth–every night, he had to sleep with Nathan, no matter how late it was or whether Nathan was out of town. Not even thunder could shake that routine. It was nobly framed as “father–son bonding
As a result, many in the business world had seen the dramatic sighoof Nathan holding a child while working. Over time, Marcus couldn’t sleep without Nathan by his side.
“Okay” He nodded obediently.
Nathan raised an eyebrow. He hadn’t even said they were leaving yet, and Rebecca was already rushing to see them out?
Well then. In the entire world, she was the first person to ever show him the door.
His face turned cold. “No need to walk us out. Marcus, let’s go.”
Marcus didn’t dare go against his dad’s wishes. After all, Daddy had brought him to see Rebecca. He gave her a kiss on the check “Goodbye. See you tomorrow, don’t be late!”
Then he jumped down from her arms and quickly ran to catch up.
Rebecca staled sweetly. When she looked at Nathan again, his tall, cold figure seemed to be wrapped in a whole winter’s worth of frost. She couldn’t be bothered to slap a warm face onto a cold behind. She turned around and went back inside to
These past seven days of being bedridden, she hadn’t had much time for Emma Since she’d be spending tomorrow with
us again, she wanted to make extra snacks and candies for her daughter. Excual she couldn’t be there to drop her off or pick her up at least Emina would feel her mommy’s love all the time.

felt different. He used to think that if he distanced himself from her, ignored her, she would feel uncomfortable, maybe even try to get closer to him. After all, didn’t she have some ulterior motive sneaking into the villa?
But it had been nearly half a month, and she had cooperated perfectly–never tried to speak to him unnecessarily. And then she disappeared for seven days, as if she’d vanished from his world entirely. No sense of presence. Now, she was getting along so well with Sebastian! She clearly didn’t care at all about being ignored by him!
That feeling of being ignored…. made him really unhappy-
The elevator doors opened.
Nathan stepped out coldly, only to be greeted by a little girl in a pink princess dress, standing at the entrance and blocking their path.
Her hair was in a little bun, she carried a small backpack, and held a lollipop bigger than her face. Her doll–like little face was round and chubby, pale and rosy. Absolutely adorable. Especially her shiny black eyes–clear and brilliant, hard to look away
from.
She… looked like someone. Why did she feel so familiar?
Emma saw Nathan, and her little face froze in awe!
The man in front of her was so tall, so handsome–like a cold, cool prince who had walked out of an anime. She didn’t have the words to describe how perfect he was.
This was the future daddy Mommy liked!
“Future Daddy…” She ran forward and hugged his long leg. Wait–his shin. She was too short and could only reach that high.
Nathan was suddenly being hugged by a little girl–who called him “future daddy“? What the hell?
More importantly, the little girl’s lollipop was sticking to his suit. Normally, his obsessive cleanliness would’ve made him lose
But surprisingly, there was no disgust, no fury in his tone. In fact, his voice came out… unusually soft. “Let go. Go home and and your mom”
“I don’t wanna. You smell nice. You feel safe. I want a hug!” Emma tilted her tiny head up and looked at him adorably
From above, she looked so small–like a little accessory clinging to his legs. Absolutely cute. Her hopeful eyes made it hard to
refuse
Nathan’s throat moved. He froze, suddenly overwhelmed by the urge to pick her up.
But he had never done such a thing before. He remained stiff, awkwardly frozen in place.
Marcus couldn’t stand it anymore and said, “Emma, my daddy’s never held any other kids besides me. He won’t pick you up.”
Emma was just a chubby nickname for her–because she was all round and soft
Emma heard this, looked up at Nathan’s tall, imposing frame, and for some reason felt really sad. Her nose scrunched up and tears suddenly rolled down her checks.
“Wadali! Boohoo_” Future daddy didn’t like her Would he not let her in the house…)
Her cries were loud, echoing down the hallway
Something in Nathan’s chest twisted. Acting on instinct, he bent down and picked her up. “Don’t cry. Girls are ugly when they
cry
Emma immediately stopped crying, her tears still on her checks, snitling “Then do you like me?”

And yet, looking at Emma’s tearful little face, Nathan felt like if he said no, she’d start howling again. He pressed his lips: Together Yeah
Emma instantly lit up, brushing the tears off her face with her tiny hands. “I like you too! Super super like you! Can you come pick me up from kindergarten someday? I want to show all my classmates that I have a super handsome and cool daddy. That way they won’t bully me or call me a wild child with no dad anymore.”
Nathan: Where is your father?”
“My mommy said, before I was born, my daddy died. By now the grass on his grave must be two meters tall. It’s just too bad -I don’t know where he’s buried or what he looked like.”
That soft little voice was full of grievance and sadness.
For a moment, Nathan didn’t know what to say to comfort her.
He wasn’t good at comforting people.
Emma was quiet for a while, then raised her shiny black eyes and looked at him.
“Future Daddy… you will come pick me up from kindergarten, right?”
