“Sorry, the number you dialed is currently unavailable.”
Could it be that he had been blocked?
A robotic female voice echoed from the phone.

Kelvin froze for a second, then forced a chuckle. “Must be a mistake. she probably hit the wrong button. Let me try again.”
Christian took back his phone, his grip tightening as veins bulged on the back of his hand.
She dares to block me?
Fine.
Great.
Hannah, you’ve got a lot of nerve. You’d better never come back!
The moment Hannah recognized the familiar number, her good mood suddenly soured.
Without hesitation, she declined the call and blocked the number directly.
After thinking it through, she realized that from now on, their lawyers would handle the divorce proceedings, so there was no need for any further communication.
She immediately cut off all contact. WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.–all blocked!
Just as she boarded the bus, an unknown number called. She frowned and answered.
“Hannah, it’s me, Kelvin. Christian is drunk. Come pick him up.”
Even through the phone, she could almost smell the overpowering stench of alcohol.
There was a time when she would have worried about Christian’s safety, about his health, and would have rushed over without hesitation.
But all she ever got in return were mocking laughs from his so–called friends and taunts from the women clinging to him.
Back then, Christian would be too drunk to register anything, and she didn’t want to put him in a difficult position, so she never once complained.
Looking back now, it made no sense. If he were really that drunk, he wouldn’t step out of the club looking completely sober every time.
She took a deep breath, relieved that she had finally cured herself of her foolish infatuation.
“You’ve got the wrong person. Call Rebecca instead.”
With that, she blocked this number too.

Inside the club’s private lounge, the room fell into an eerie silence after the third call was blocked.
Christian’s face was as dark as the bottom of a pot.
The only one bold enough to speak was Kelvin Johnson, dressed in his usual leather jacket. He wasn’t afraid of dying and asked bluntly, “I heard Hannah was pushing for a divorce. Is that true?”
Christian, appearing drunk, seemed completely oblivious to the spectacle they had been making.
Now, confronted with the question, he rubbed his forehead and scoffed.
“She wants a divorce? Ha. She’s just trying to cover up her own wrongdoing by twisting the story.”
Kelvin paused before understanding. “So what you’re saying is, you’re the one who wants the divorce, but Hannah is making it seem like she dumped you first to keep people from questioning her?”
Christian sneered. “Don’t bring her up in front of me again, or we’re done.”
Kelvin shrank back slightly. He had no interest in provoking Christian.
But deep down, he was full of doubts.
Sure, Hannah had been the one to chase after Christian, but over the years, their relationship had seemed stable. How did it all fall apart so fast? Marriage is terrifying. Yeah, I’m definitely never getting married.
Just then, the door swung open.
A woman walked in, wearing a baseball cap and a face mask.
Christian, half–drunk, squinted at her, his chest tightening for a brief moment.
But as soon as she removed her disguise, his heart plummeted.
Kelvin whistled. “Ms. Rebecca!”
“Sorry, I’m late,” Rebecca said with a polite smile, glancing around the room.
Then, she walked over to Christian, slipping her arm through his.
“Chris drank too much. I’ll take him home.”
Kelvin cleared his throat awkwardly before quickly offering, “Do you need a driver?”
“No need.” Rebecca steadied Christian, bid everyone farewell, and led him away.
She was poised, graceful, and composed.
Once they left, the room was filled with praises for her.
However, Kelvin felt oddly irritated.
Hannah does the same thing, so why does no one ever praise her? Is it just because Christian and Rebecca have that so- called first love history?
A surge of annoyance welled up in his chest.

He couldn’t even explain why, but he grabbed his jacket and walked out, wanting nothing to do with the people inside.
Rebecca had already helped Christian into the car.
The driver wasn’t there, so she drove herself.
“Chris, are we heading home? Chester is playing with his robot and said he’s waiting for you to help program it.”
Christian rubbed his temples again.
Hannah had always handled the robot’s programming. Once assembled, it could interact and play with Chester, who loved it.
He didn’t care about any of that and waved dismissively.
“Call my assistant and have him send a programmer to help Chester.”
“Okay.”
Rebecca sent the message and asked, “You just had drinks, right? Did you skip dinner?”
“Mm.”
“I know a trendy restaurant nearby. Want to try it?”
Rebecca felt a bit nervous after asking.
Lately, Christian seemed busier, spending less and less time with her.
She had worked hard to drive Hannah away, she couldn’t let all that effort go to waste.
So she had looked into Christian’s schedule and showed up at the club at just the right time.
The truth was, ever since Hannah left, Christian hadn’t had a proper meal with her. No private dates.
That made her uneasy.
Fortunately, Christian gave a faint “Okay,” and she secretly rejoiced before driving toward the university district.
The trendy restaurant had a couples‘ theme, and the air was filled with soft whispers and affectionate glances.
In that setting, Rebecca softened her voice and hinted, “You’ve been so busy lately. I almost feel guilty reminding you that you promised to take me to the beach.”
Christian, perhaps because of the alcohol, had no appetite and barely ate.
But facing Rebecca’s bright smile, he forced down his irritation and spoke. “I remember. We’ll go when I
have time.”
Satisfied, Rebecca continued, “Do you like the dress I sent you?”
Christian hadn’t really looked at it and simply nodded. “It looks good.”

“That dress looks just like the one you gave me back then. I’ll be wearing it when I go on stage to accept my award. It feels like a way to honor my youth.”
Christian didn’t seem to catch the implication.
“Mm. As long as you like it.”
Rebecca noticed his distracted expression, and her heart tightened slightly.
“Chris, are you done eating? Let’s take a walk outside.”
Christian’s steps were unsteady.
At this hour, Hannah would have already prepared sobering tea for him and given him a massage.
Rebecca clung to his arm. “Look, they’re selling flowers over there!”
She shook his arm playfully. “I want pink roses.”
Christian gestured toward the college student selling flowers. “Wrap up a bouquet for her.”
The student quickly put together a bundle of pink roses and handed it to Rebecca.
“Wishing you both a long and happy life together, forever and ever.”
Christian gave an extra hundred as a tip.
Because years ago, someone had stood beside him, hearing that same blessing.
He still remembered, Hannah had immediately thrown her arms around his neck with a bright smile.
“Christian, remember this, forever and ever, not a day less!”
A jolt shot through him like an electric shock.
He suddenly yanked his hand back, putting distance between himself and Rebecca.
Her smile froze instantly.
Christian didn’t even care about her reaction. His voice had turned cold.
“I’m allergic to pollen.”
Rebecca frowned. “Allergic?”
How did I never know?
Christian didn’t bother explaining. “Forget it. Let’s go home.”
