Ayla
“Shut your mouth you stupid cunt. Your parents are dead. Your house burned. Your little sister is strung up in the courtyard. You have nothing left but me and you will listen to me and do what I tell you to do when I tell you to do it or you will wish you did, you omega slut.” the warden yells at me while pulling me around by the back of my hair, dragging me down the hall each time I fall and kicking me to get me to stand back up. They are all dead. My entire family and staff. All because of who I am and my designation. I am not stupid enough to think that this kidnapping is solely because I am an omega. If so, then why wouldn’t they take my sister as well? I am so happy she isn’t here with me. The thought makes me feel guilty, but I find comfort in knowing she is spared from this life. “Stay on your knees and undo my belt, you princess bitch.”
I am ripped from my flashback to the present. I can see Thane leaning over talking to me through my blurry vision, but his words are garbled. I am having a panic attack and I can faintly hear words coming from Thane about my breathing. He must be trying to calm me down and so I do. I focus on his words and my breathing. The room becomes clearer and I feel the weight being lifted from my chest. The sense of dread leaving my stomach. Thane kisses me on top of the head and I try to act like I didn’t even notice, but I am sure he sees my cheeks heating up when I show Jelena where to cut my hair as I catch eyes with him in the mirror. This alpha believes what he says about keeping me safe. I just hope it’s true.
After what seems like hours, I stand up and can’t believe it. I have thick white layered hair that falls below my breasts. Volume for days. I looks amazing and I can’t stop smiling. I never thought that after 10 years I would be free and starting to feel and look like a new omega. Thane must realize what I am thinking because he leans down and whispers “Yes, you are free and beautiful little wolf. When I thought you couldn’t get more so, you surprise me, yet again. I blush and get met with dimples in return.
Thane pays for my haircut and looks around outside, before ushering me to his SUV and belting me in. We drive through town and Thane stops at a restaurant grabbing a to go order and driving us to a park. Unpacking our meal, I am thankful he didn’t push for me to eat in front of other shifters yet. I know I need to, but not just yet. Everything he has shown to me is beautiful. The pack is huge and there is a feeling of rightness being out here. We begin eating, Thane making small talk when I decide to take a step in faith. With a moment of courage, I act before I can talk myself out of it and slide my phone over to Thane. “I really liked everything I saw and learned today. I think I want to become a pack member. A legitimate one.” he reads off of my phone and looks up at me smiling. I would love for you to become a pack member little wolf. I just want to make sure you are really ready and mean it. I would be honored to make you a member of this pack. We usually have a ceremony with new inductions, but we can skip that or wait until you are ready. You decide and let me know.” I smile at him and decide to think it over. A ceremony would be a great way to meet everyone, but overwhelming at the same time. “You also will have some things to say during the ceremony or when obtaining a pack mark from me and you need to be able to verbalize it for the mark to take affect. I didn’t realize that and that causes me to pause eating. “Hey, its okay little wolf. You have plenty of time to think about it. I won’t kick you out, but I am eager to hear your words.” I look up and grin at him and start eating again. Suddenly, multiple questions start flying around my brain and I start typing away at my phone causing him to chuckle. “You are getting good at that little wolf.” he grins flashing those dimples and deep green eyes at me.
Thane takes my phone when I hand it to him and starts reading my question “Will I need to move to a different room when I become a pack member?” Well Ayla, that is a good question. Normally, that suite is reserved for special guests, but you are comfortable there. On one hand you can stay because you’re comfortable, but on the other it appears as though I am giving you preferential treatment since nobody is allowed to stay on my floor that isn’t a guest. I think I am leaning towards staying and if later down the road, you decide you want to have a roommate, you can relocate in the pack house to another floor.” “Where do mated shifters stay?” for some reason, him reading that question makes me slightly nauseous. Yes, I have a mate out there somewhere, but he may not be in this pack. Or what if he is and then I can’t see Thane anymore and have to treat him as an Alpha only? What if Thane finds his mate and she wants me moved from my rooms? The endless questions have me shifting in my seat and getting nervous. He clears his throat, looking at me for a while, likely wondering where my question is leading before answering “Mated shifters have houses in town. Once shifters meet their mate, they go into heat and we can t have a wolf in heat inside a building full of unmated shifters. It isn t safe. I nod my head “yes” and finish eating. “Will I move out of the pack house when I find my mate?” he reads my next question with a little surprise on his face. Clearing his throat again, he seems slightly nervous while he answers. “Well, I haven’t given it too much thought lately, but yes I will probably build a house for my mate in the forest between the town and pack house so I can be a quick run away from both if needed. I am hoping to find my mate soon Ayla, being almost 30, there is some pressure and I would rather have my perfect hali than a chosen mate, but I know that if I take a chosen mate, she will be the most beautiful, honest, strong and as close to perfect as a chosen mate can be I smile at him, my smile probably not reaching my eyes as I think about losing my connection to Thaue.
He starts to clean up our lunch mess when I notice him looking around the pack, towards to woods. I catch him a few times scenting the air before he turns to me stating “Thank you for having lunch with me little wolf and coming with me to look around the pack. I had a good time this morning. I have some meetings to attend and a few things to finish up, so I think we should be headed back. He gets up and extends his hand, I slide my tiny palm into his outstretched hand and let him lead me back to the SUV and belt me into the car. I am definitely worn out and full. A nap being the only thing on my agenda as soon as I return to my recess. I catch him looking around again before flashing me his dimples. I wonder what he is sensing or who he is looking for?
