I can’t see her, but I can smell her. Sour lemons assault my senses and I know that Della must be around somewhere. Not wanting the drama, I wrap up my lunch with Ayla to head back to the pack house. Thr drive should be pretty straightforward, but I find wanting to take more time, the longest routes, all in an effort to stall leaving Ayla. I know it, but I don’t quite understand it. She’s staring out the window taking everything in. I thought she would be more afraid after being caged for so long, but she’s stronger than I realized. I pull up to the pack house and mind–link everyone to clear the first floor and elevators before walking Ayla up to her rooms. “Thanks for spending the morning touring the grounds with me little wolf. Why don’t you rest up and I will send Eric by this afternoon to do a check up. lips and looks at my with wide eyes, completely shocked. “I’m sorry again, for my wolf’s. actions. I hope you still feel comfortable with me, I won’t let that happen again. I umm I have some work to do. I will send Eric by and check in with you later okay?” She nods. “yes” and I slowly reach for the door handle and close her door.
What the hell am I doing? She may be the most gorgeous shifter I have ever laid eyes on, but I’m not a horny teenage pup. She’s severely traumatized and I’m just going to make it worse. I need to be able to acclimate her to the pack and figure out why she was kept so long. The ring only keeps their girls a short time. I’m missing something and I won’t figure it out dry humping her leg in a doorway. Which I was .5 seconds away from doing. “Eric I need you to stop by and check up on Ayla this afternoon.
