With just one glance, his vision locked onto the words, unable to look away.

A drop of sweat rolled down Jayden’s forehead. He didn’t even read what was written–his only thought was to fix the situation.
“Mr. Radcliffe, these are just some random papers that the troublemaker threw earlier. I’ll have someone clean them up right away. I promise they won’t interfere with the seminar.”
Graham raised a hand to interrupt him. The seminar doesn’t need to continue.”
Jayden panicked, fearing he’d lose this golden opportunity for promotion.
“Why? That troublemaker has already been kicked out, and I’ve restored order. It was just an accident. Please, Mr. Radcliffe, give me-
Before he could finish, the director handed him the papers.
“See for yourself.
“This is just something she printed randomly. Mr. Radcliffe, you can’t take it seriously-
Jayden was about to crumple the papers and throw them away, but his photographic memory betrayed him. When his eyes landed on the content, he saw keywords like Celestial Leaf, full–body skin graft, and Lead Surgeon: Xylia Watson. His face turned pale.
It was an actual medical record!
“Hurry and find her! Apologize properly and get the details. Until we fully understand the side effects of Celestial Leaf, this drug cannot go to market. Graham ghed. There’s always someone better out there. In research, arrogance is dangerous.”
“How is this possible? Was it really her? But she’s just a pampered, useless young lady.” Jayden muttered in disbelief.
Leaving the research institute, Xylia still felt unsettled. When she saw a call from the hospital director, Greg Robinett, she almost declined it. But worried it might be an emergency, she answered.
“Xylia, several severe dermatology cases were transferred to the hospital recently. They came from various states. Could you work some overtime and take a look?”
Normally, Xylia would have agreed immediately. But right now, she was exhausted.
“Aren’t the country’s top dermatologists all at the research institute? Let them handle it.”
“But… some of the patients were sent by them.” Greg’s voice grew quieter, tinged with guilt.
“I’ve heard about the situation at the research institute, but the patients are innocent.
Xylia chuckled coldly. So that’s how it was.
Let them figure it out. Maybe they’ll find a solution. D Robineu, you’re so smart–I’m sure you can devise a treatment plan.

She hung up.
Doctors should be compassionate, but she wasn’t a machine. She had her own limits.

Despite working in the hospital for years and publishing countless papers, no dermatologists from other states had ever heard of her, and Greg had never invited her to other medical conferences. This lack of recognition is why she is looked down on today.
The hospital likely never promoted her achievements externally. She was merely their top dermatologist, and when other specialists went abroad for a conference, she was sent to the research institute as a substitute because the discussion involved a new drug.
She felt little gratitude toward the hospital. The patient had a powerful background when she performed that full–body skin graft. No other doctor dared take the case; even Greg feared offending the family, Only then did they make her a full–fledged attending physician.
If it weren’t for her exceptional skills, that patient would have died, and she would’ve been kicked out of the hospital–or worse, faced the family’s wrath.
Unpleasant memories resurfaced, and for a fleeting moment, she considered resigning. But she wasn’t willing to leave Brighton Central Hospital. This platform allowed her to help more people.
Feeling upset, she wanted to spend money.
Xylia grabbed her card and headed straight to Brighton’s most luxurious shopping mall, making her way to the top floor where the high–end stores were.
“Xylia, what are you doing here?”
Just her luck–she ran into Jayden’s mom, Irene, who was shopping. Her assistants carried several bags of expensive clothes.
Xylia ignored her and walked into a jewelry store.
She had always liked jewelry. But after getting married she wore fewer accessories. She bought many new clothes a few days ago but hadn’t had time to get matching jewelry. Today was the perfect opportunity.
“Xylia, are you listening to me?”
Irene trailed behind her like a shadow, her expression dark. She even reached out to grab Xylia’s arm.
Shadow–I and Shadow–2 immediately blocked her, causing Irene to stumble and fall to the ground, making a scene.
“Oh my! My daughter–in–law has no shame! She’s shopping for luxury jewelry but won’t even buy anything for me! She took a billion and doesn’t even remember who she is! And she even ordered. bodyguards to hit mel
The wealthy patrons nearby stopped and whispered, cafting judgmental glances at Xylia.
“How heartless! She should at least buy something for lier. No need to be so stingy
I wonder who she is. So ungrateful”
Irene had always been like this. If things didn’t go her way, she would throw a tantrum. Xylia was used to it.

but that didn’t mean she would tolerate it.
She took a deep breath and forced a smile.
“Mrs. Castro, Ill buy something for you.

“That’s more like it.” Irene snorted and quickly got up, pointing at the display cases. “I want this, this, and this! No, actually, don’t get these. Wrap up everything chel”
She had only rejected the cheapest ones.
The store clerk beamed with delight and reminded them, “Ma’am, even with a discount, the total still exceeds one billion.”
This jewelry store was high–end, and the quoted price was already generous.
Nylia crossed her arms. That’s not expensive at all.”
Irene smirked at the sales associate. “You heard her! She said it’s not expensive. Wrap them up!”
“Of course, ma’am.
As the store clerks busied themselves, Irene turned to Xylia, smug. “At least you know how to behave. Now, hand me my card.”
“Sure. Xylia casually handed it over, showing no hesitation.
Irene glanced at it. It was indeed the card she had given out back then. Her mood improved slightly.
I’ll let the ambulance incident slide this time. If you behave, I might allow you to visit Yrian occasionally -or even let you be a mistress for Jayden.”
Her tone was condescending, as if she were bestowing Xylia with great honor. Xylia found it hilarious. “You want your son to have a mistress?”
“My son is rich, handsome, and has a bright future. Being his mistress wouldn’t be a disgrace.”
Rolling her eyes, Xylia saw no point in arguing. She grabbed her bag and left.
“Ma’am, she left. What about the payment?” A servant whispered.
Irene confidently raised the card. “All the money is right here. Let her leave however she wants. I thought she was so proud, but it turns out she’s just like this. The Watsons has already fallen. Other than the Castros, what else can she rely on?”
The store clerk had already packed everything and waited for them to swipe the card.
With a swift motion, she swiped her card at the register
